On the other hand, however, one can see them as "Otaku", typical Japanese teenagers disconnected from the society...

I'd say the heavy cruisers, on both sides. Despite the fact that they weren't the biggest or baddest around, they saw an admirable amount of action, and not always against comparable opponents.

Suppose I should mention that the IJN CA's going around with enough exposed explosives onboard to wreck them may not have been the responsible decision... [:D]

Ah, yes, the selflessness of the CAs deserves some compliment [8D]

By the way, JuanG, love all your mods, just finished your scenario 42 Alternate WNT BB Variant as Allies (I think is version 9), started since last October IIRC - great experience (love the new ships on both sides), except I ruined it myself by adding two more US carriers on my side - this upset the naval balance completely and allowed me to stop the Japanese invasion easily and end the game in Feb 1943...

Really looking forward for your CV mod, playing as Japan

Kongo = Otaku. They have a role in life which they shirk in order to more closely emulate the mountain. And what's up with that superstructure? "Ooh I've got the largest pagoda-like superstructure on the plannet!!" Yeah but I bet your torpedo bulges are tiny !!! Sheesh.

Japanese CAs... Most people go through an experimental phase in which they dabble with self-destruction but very few people actually continue that experimental phase into adulthood in the form of walking around with a big can of gasoline stoppered only by a thin plastic cap over their head and an "always-exposed flame" in their hand. Sorry but a tendency to self-harm and do so in the most public and spectacular ways possible isn't very mature.

Japanese CAs are the "Emotionally Unstable Borderline Personality Disorders" of the ship world. They don't know whether they belong to the battleline or the torpedo line, they love drama and they can self-harm spectacularly at the slightest touch.

To that end, I pose the question to those of you who were adventurous, bored, or silly enough to look in this thread: what type of ship is the most psychologically mature? Should you indulge in a reply, I am keenly interested in your rationale. [;)]

The most mature ship in any of the navies involved in the Pacific War is probably HMS Victory. I think she was "born" in 1769..., which gives her a leg up on even the USS Constitution.

The rest are just "children" by comparison... [:D]
