The Star Trek science ships are different looking than these military ships, that happen to have some science labs and personnel. The science ships tend to have spherical shapes.

I am going to make research ships now. I wasn't going to bother with them, but I will see if I can compare the maintence cost of science ships to Star Bases. Having these talks about science ships, I want to use them now. [:)]
