Fornadan,
In that case, you should e-mail
alexf@matrixgames.com with as much account/user info as you have and ask him to reset that account for you. Unfortunately that's not really my area.
Regards,
- Erik

Why do you say this? I see no difference. It all looks the same to me. What am I missing?

OK, after playing most of the afternoon *(with no crashes!) I have some comments:
1. No crashes...did I mention that already? [;)]
2. Ship design with the ability to mark obsolete on the design main screen, rather than having to open up the ship design itself is a vast improvement
3. The game is running much more smoothly with ships and fleets now gliding across the screen instead of doing bunny hops across the screen
4. AI seems less likely to trade off its colonies. This is a good thing.
5. Economy model seems a bit more stable now.
6. Overall, it seems like my system is straining less to run the game, despite the fact that I have a 20 empire game on a 1400 star map, with pirates to max and allowing lots of indepenants.
This is a good update IMO.

1. You are fixing bugs at breakneck speed.
2. You actually listen to what people ask for... (and respond quickly to it)
You guys are an awesome company that knows how to treat their customers. thank you.

I had this problem too. I can't remember now, but if you see where it says passwork, just erase it and put in a new password. It dosn't ask you to repeat it to verify that they are the same, so be carefull you type it in correctly.

I DON'T see it, thats the problem
EDIT: ok, i found it... after login, you need to click on "My Account", in "My Account" there is a field called "password" that lets you change your password, as Davor said, there is no verification so type it in right the first time.

Um, where is the link for this? Boy I feel stupid. NVM
You need to register the game w/ Matrix Games. After that the patch is available to you under "registered Downloads"

From a prior save or a new v1.0.3 game? Do you have any listing or description of the error?

from a prior save, and there was no error description, just windows' standard "program performed an error and needs to terminate" thing. (not in those exact words)...
speaking of... on 1.02 i had one such crash... well I kept playing without pressing the "close" button, then i tried to save, it got a 16MB file (normal save is 64MB) before terminating (save was corrupt)... but it seemed to run completely fine before it finally terminates.

Started a new game. So far so good! No issues with crashing and the game seems to be playing much faster performance-wise.
Here's to hoping for a scrap ship button in the Shipyard screen and a "retrofit all" button!
EDIT: I found one issue in the patch, but I'm not sure if it's intended. When you use the "Upgrade" button in the design screen, it doesn't automatically obsolete the old AI created design. I understand that it isn't supposed to obsolete player-created designs; however, shouldn't it auto-obsolete an upgrade of an AI design? At least I think it should.
My strategy was to custom create my military ships and auto-upgrade everything else. Eventually I had 4 different non-obsolete star bases, construction ships, mining vessels, etc. IMO the old designs should have been made obsolete.
Otherwise, great patch!

the upgrade button should obsolete ANY design, AI or Player Created...
the AI shouldn't obsolete player created designs by itself; but if you select a design that you created and click upgrade then it should obsolete the old one.
