Being a long time player of HTTR and COTA, I knew what I was looking at in this video, so I am all excited and can't wait to get my hands on BFTB.

But I agree with all the others who already commented: next videos or promo stuff need to be much more focused on a smaller part of a scenario with less units where you show the people totally unfamiliar with the game what is really happening, how you get orders to units, how they react and deploy, etc. And this should be shorter than a full-blown tutorial or AAR.

My advice?

Go back to NATO icons. [8D]

You can toggle either one, just like HTTR and COTA. At least note that now the silhouettes of opposing nations face opposite sides; Germans face west and Allies face east.

Probably need to swap that if Panther Games decides on going with East Front.[:D]

Can't wait to play your scenario, Simovitch.

The Panther guys are such pros, it would figure they would gear the video to the military professional. That's the level it seemed geared to, which is a big problem for newbies. But on that level, I did enjoy it.

I knew that already!

Darned, though, if my hobby didn't start going to hell when they put those little silhouettes on the PanzerBlitz counters.

Was that the end of the beginning, or the beginning of the end? [;)]

I watched for only one minute and shut it down.

Suggestion:

Switch to Nato type counters

Switch to the small counters

Highlight one regiment

Zoom in so the units of the regiment are the only units visible

Start recording movie

Give orders to the regiment HQ and watch the companies do their own thing.

I can't tell you how to make the video, but I CAN tell you this: a video has to tell a story, and that video does not! Having a voice-over saying what is going on would be helpful, but it might not be enough.Perhaps pausing the video once in a while and explaining what is happening and what is going to happen might also help. The video could begin by the narrator describing the problems and objectives for both sides (with some drama added).

Everyone who wants to communicate successfully should remember the story of the poor preacher whose church was filled whereas in the next rich parish the church was empty, so the "rich" pastor when to ask the poor uneducated one how he did it. He replied: "First I tells em what I'm gonna say, then I tells em, then I tells em what I said"!

On a more scientific basis, information theorist Shannon showed that if the receiver's bandwidth does not match the transmitter's, most of the information can be lost!

Another trap to avoid: a teacher asked the class to write about a Christmas gift they had received. A little girl wrote:"My uncle gave me a book about hippopotamusses; it told me more about hippopotomusses than I wanted to know!"

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes I realise that this AAR is not optimum. That's why we are now highlighting the Game Concepts movie here:
