Is there no way you could arrange pre-orders from your UK resellers? Like BoardGameExtras? After buying Phantom Leader, I would pre-order this in a heartbeat

If that was possible I would pre-order Hornet Leader and Field Commander: Napoleon

Wehre's my WWI computer airwar game Dan? [:D]

http://www.dvg.com/.sc/ms/dd/ee/7/Down In Flames WWI

Um that's not quite a computer game with an AI an all that. Looks good though I would certainly buy it if it had an ai that was at least decent. I've always liked the drawings of the DVG games of air warfare.

You didn't ask for a computer game 'with an AI,' nor did you ask for 'an all that.' *hehe/grin* (and it is technically a computer game, albeit a computer adaptation of a game *grin*)

Sorry but anyone who is anyone knows if it's a computer game it "has to have an ai". Anything else is just a prop that uses a computer to calculate battle odds and outcomes like vassal does. That's not a computer "game".

IMO, This is a very narrow view of the term "computer game". I would guess that only a minority of computer users would share such a limited view.

Wow... nice attitude....[:'(]

Also VASSAL does not calculate anything. You still have to do all the calculations yourself. It can do die rolls though.[8D]

There are lots of computer games that actually do compute all the odds and take care of the all rules and such that have no AI and they are computer games.

Name them and by LOTS you better have 100 of them cause there are 10's of thousands of games with AI's.

I also want LINKS to these socalled LOTS of computer games with no ai's that calculate odds blah blah.

At any rate these are not GAMES they are UTILITIES and there's a big difference in a UTILITY and a GAME.

I knew what you wanted and posted a jest, based on the technicalities of the definition (note the "*grin*'s"), but now you're just being silly. *plonk*

VASSAL _can_ do calculations. But more importantly and/or succinctly, they are limited, at best. However, you should see what you can do with dynamic properties and an auto-end-of-movement-key. You can do a lot just with those two capabilities. For instance, several years ago I had a Firepower module auto-calculating and displaying all height-units for the player(s). Not exciting, but technically a calculation. *grin*

Cool! Is that AH's Firepower? The modern squad based game? Could I get a copy of the module? [:)]

Sorry but you lose again. The statement still stands. Anyone who is anyone knows a computer GAME (not a utility) must have an ai. I'm still looking for those 100's of titles of games without one??

I think I'm being pretty civil myself considering the rebuttals I'm getting that you're doing nothing about.

like this one:
ah mine makes more of a <F@%K YOU> type of sound

But I guess others can do what they want and you just "key" on me because I don't see every game you make as a gift from god.

Where might that one be? You can reply to me by e-mail at erikr@matrixgames.com and I will address that with whoever posted it.

I saw you post another uncivil comment in the Business Models thread after my warning. As a result, your account is banned for a week while you reconsider following the forum rules. It may come as a surprise to you that being uncivil to others tends to promote the same behavior in return, which is why we don't allow those kinds of posts on our forum.

If you have any questions, e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com. After the week has passed, your account will be reinstated as soon as you e-mail me to confirm that you understand and will follow the forum rules.

That comment wasn't directed at MFB. Eddy made a comment to him and put <plonk> on the end...Punk Reaper asked what the <plonk> was for and I said I thought it was the sound the ignore button makes...Punk Reaper then said what is quoted above. It wasn't directed at MFB...he was just making a funneh comment about what his ignore button sounds like. I doubt he even has MFB on ignore

Dan, how does your forthcoming Stalingrad card game differ from Clash of Arm's The Hell of Stalingrad that came out last year?

Put another way, what are the mechincs of your game in a nutshell?

Thanks,
Adam.

Oh by the way, DVG solitaire games like Hornet Leader or Field Command when ported to the computer will not have an AI. So are they still computer games?

But in developing a computer game most developers do think that an AI should go with it in order to have a broader appeal.
