During our turn grymme made a few bridgeheads so we had to try to counter attack where possible.

We encircle the 9th Mot Division, 25th Pz Bat, and a an arty unit

The counterattack is victorious

A little farther south a motorized regiment crossed the river at a fording point and we hit them back and completely destroyed the regiment (in a 2nd attack)

A little farther south then that we noticed the south end of Grymmes line was unhinged and held by hungarians and romanians. So we took the time to roll up those 2 hexes and decimate the poor axis minors.

We also blew some bridges on the road to rostov. We shuttled over 8 more divisions to kerch to begin their move to block the kerch peninsula as well as potentially help hold sevastopol. In the north we've got some units forming but they will at least a month (6 turns) before they have even the most basic XP to be considered for combat duties.

1st of November.

Mud.

The winter has started and from now on there will be no clear weather untill possibly march or april. The axis forces get a severe penalty in mud -40% in attacking (and cannot even use operational points to get past them). Also there is a severe movement penalty.

Of the 2 bridgeheads struck last round one survives and the northern one gets crushed.

I make a second atempt to load up a bridghead in the north around Bjelgorod.

The second bridgehead south of Kharkov gets severly expanded (mainly by forces from the 52nd and 44th Corps). My forces are a little thin but hopefully the soviets will not be crazy enough to counterattack.

The soviets struck hard against the 2nd Hungarian army southwest of Kramatorskaya. I strike hard back and destroy 2 rifledivisions and a reconnoisance regiment. the 14th Pz Corps (brown) are striking hard to create a 3rd bridgehead around Donets.

In the south not much happens.

In Crimea nothing happens. Our advance has ground to a halt since the mountains are preventing any manouvering.

A squadron of submarines are detected and sunk my airforces and by german and romanian fleet elements.

A closeup of the front.

I was following this AAR, but it seems to have stopped for about a month? What happened?[:o] It looks like a cool scenario and I want to play it with somebody.[X(]

Yea july was a slow month for gaming for me. 2 weeks of family vacations a week (last week) of work conferences in portland and finding out my wife was preggers has put the slow down on my typical gaming. I shall endeavor to get caught up with the turns soon though :)
