It is heartening to hear it!

I think it is fair to say that his tone at the beginning of this thread was vitriolic and vituperative. Based on that it certainly seemed to me that his opponent must have had a lot on his hands... thanks for jumping in and setting me straight.

				Jeremy,
Like some I have owned and played Pacific War since SSI version 1.0. I am delighted that Matrix and yourself continue to refine and support Pacific War for gratis. I posted to offer any closure I might being the party of the second part. The Hiryu sank in a valid battle routine.
Your point is well made, and for my part I am indebted to Matrix. Pacific War continues to be an all time favorite for me.
Thanks,
Steve

I started out kinda pissed off reading Don Shafer's post as just another "drunken rage" poster child. It got interesting when everyone started making fun of him and I learned the details about the CV's from the posters afterwards (Thanks Gents!).
Then finding out this was a multiple attack sequence and the miscommunications of the players, it actually became funny.
Think about it, I went through 2-3 emotions in about 5 mins of reading about 16" shells/bombs, and a (nearly) impossible to sink CV, from a rant to snide remarks to throw down the gauntlet takin my marbles and going home sandbox playing, all from the comfort of my CPU.... Ahh the power of the keyboard for peace and war (mostly entertainment! LOL)
Thanks to all

I think that's important to keep in mind that it's "only" a game and we should play it for fun. Sure, I also like to win and like to play it seriously but playing against a human opponent it's biggest satisfaction, at least for me. I had privilege to play my first PBEM game against a guy who was more than willing to help me with advices and explaining me how a game works (thanks Nomad) so I even was able to win one game

  !
And really, no need to attack people who work free of charge to uprgade a game and keep it interesting... Hell, for me having a game more than 10 years old still very much playable is GREAT job!
