Ouch! I saw that gap! I had a good one too, due to concentrating my forces. I went north because of the cover. I'm sure you did also.

1-Company Panther A's
1-Company SS Mechanized Infantry
5-Platoons Spec Ops
1-Company Motorcycles
3-Platoons Recon
2-Rifle Companies
2-Platoons 105mm Recoiless Rifles
2-FO's
1-Platoon Kuebelwagens
2-Battalions 150mm Howitzers
1-Battery 150mm Howitzers

I called in:

1-Platoon Tiger IE(early)'s
1-Section StuG40 ausf F/8
1-Section Brummbaer
4-Kuebelwagens
1-Kuebelwagen MG
1-Platoon Recon
2-Platoons 120mm Mortars
1-Ammo Dump

It was a good match. I was shocked by how much you had left! If those units had been in a place to hit me...

True, I chose going north for the cover ;)

I'm amazed how heavy casualties one can take, and STILL have forces around to fight with! This was one example, an even better one is the fight I'm having vs. Lars' Marines right now. My front line alone must have taken some 500 casualties by now, and they are by no means beaten, or even taken back!

A pic...

I think I managed to get a screenshot of the main carnage. This is a tiny portion of the map, but 95% of all fighting took place within this screen... you can see at least 9 panthers advancing.

The pic is 500K, so be advised if you're modem-ing. :p
If anyone knows how to make the images smaller (in bytes), feel free to enlighten me.

Ouch! That area looks like it's had its fair share of artillery fire :D

Bel, you should convert the bmp images to a compressed form, a gif or jpeg image. One program at least that can do this (and many other things) is Paint shop pro. I think you can download a free shareware or demo version of it somewhere. Sorry i can't give you an URL :(
