These hit-and-run attacks are supposed to slow Big Bad Wolf down a bit. He now will need to protect his fleet better. Or loose a lot of ships. Both are fine by me. Malaya seems to be a problem. So far he is not pushing to Singapore yet. I think he is going to finish of the troops in the north first. I have evacuated the Ozzie divisions. One got out completely, the other one lost about half its troops due to naval combat. I also got a battalion out of Georgetown. I may sneak in some transports later to evacuate even more units. Perhaps I should transfer some using the Dutch transports. We'll see. What worries me most are the carriers between Christmas Island and the West Coast. I think there are only two, but their may be more. If he stays there a little longer I will attack him with the Saratoga and Lexington. The odds are probably against me, but he is an awefull distance away from any friendly port. A single torpedo hit will cause him lots of problems. But for now I'm going to try to solve the problem by ignoring it. Currenlty I'm using my precious APs to send troops to the North Pacific and Pearl Harbor (escorted by the CVs). When those units have been at their location the first carrier battle will commence...

The situation in the Philippines is not looking good. War Plan Orange will take immediate effect! Our forward defenses are pushing back and the spearheads of the Japanese troops are already at Clark Field. All units are going to retreat to Bataan peninsula and dig in. Here we will hold on untill reinforcements arrive.

Our situation is desperate. Japanese troops have Singapore under siege and cut us off of the troops in the north of Malaya. Chances of winning are slim. We are moving our units out bit by bit. The Australian brigades have already left and will be used in the defense of Australia. The New Zealand Engineers have left and will move to Suva. Two. Punjab battalions have been moved out. Other units will follow. Several Australian and New Zealand squadrons have been moved out. British squadrons lacking planes have been withdrawn. Nice! My carriers are back at PH tomorrow. They were escorting a huge convoy that I could not afford to be sunk. I think they are a little too late to battle it out with the Japanese carriers. But I definitively will keep them in the area in case the Japanese will raid deep into the convoy routes again. But as it seems now, there may be a naval strike soon near Port Moresby.

Concerning: Central Pacific Strategy

It seems that a possible Japanese invasion of Pearl Harbor is no longer an imminent tread. Pearl Harbor has been reinforced by several regiments and its air force is currently at full strength. Moreover, it seems that the Japanese are pushing forward in other directions. We are therefore focussing to other fronts as well. With the current Japanese occupation of Canton Island, our supply routes to New Zealand and Australia have become troublesome. Especially, if the Japanese troops build up an Air Force base at Canton. Our supply convoys therefore will take a detour that goes far around Canton Island. A large refueling station will be build up in the South Pacific at Penrhyn Island, Marquesas Islands or the Society Islands. The newly raised South Pacific Command will be in charge of defending these fuel reservoirs and the Shipping lines to Australia. Two Air Combat Task Forces will guide our convoys in this area. Both will consist out of two carrier once the CV Hornet and CV Yorktown arrive. They are enroute to the Pacific at this point. The 2nd Carrier Strike Force under VADM Halsey will continue their hit-and-run attacks on unescorted Japanese shipping.
