We are thinking of doing a War in the West 1943-45 game, using the same scale as WitE. We then hope to link the two games together somehow. Eventually we'd also like to do a North Africa game, and link everything together. Add France 40 and you're getting close to War in Europe.
That would be awesome! [&o] So, would it be a little premature to ask about being a tester???? [:D][8D]
Seriously, I'm just looking forward to WITE. I won't have to worry about the cat running off with one of my panzer corps! If it is everything it appears to be, then, I won't be coming up for air for a long time! [8D]
Regards..

I would pay for WITW 43-45 right now if I could. Bring it on!

Would love to see a War in the West game. Though since the battlefield is much smaller compared to WitE, would like to see a smaller scale of units and a smaller hex size. Obviously this would conflict with being able to play with WitE, but just throwing it out there.

Hazzah!!!

Ha, I've been waiting years for War in the East and now that it's nearly here, you give me something else to drool over for a few more!

The West front and east front would be way to big let alone Africa aswell...to much for me...I'm afraid I'm not excited...now if they decided to do West front then went on to a tactical level series then I'd be excited.

Good point there - I loved and still love SP - they were going to do an update once and didn't. I'd love to see one sometime. Maybe in Gary's "spare time!"

Sounds great I'll be buying either but would hope for North Africa first, it would be cool if somehow the Med and interdiction of supplies could be incorperated.
Thanks for the dedication guys!

Thanks for an update on the official direction...
So Carrier Force /Strike is officially dead ?
No post about it since Feb 2009 ... last development diary update too .. Feb 15 2009
As for Carrier Force, unfortunately Justin Prince has little to report other than that some progress was made last year. He's currently waiting for the new scenario editor to be completed so that he can create all the scenarios for the game.

Yes, Mike Wood and Justin Prince both had real life interfere with their work on CF, so it's not going to happen (unless Mike at least were to come back to the project).

Thanks Joel,
sorry to hear that the project is dead in the water so to speak and I wish Justin and Mike all the best.
Thanks for providing me (and others) with countless hours of absorbing education / thought provoking entertainment with your products. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for bringing wargaming to the these heights.
You guys got me interested in programming so I'll continue to program and develop my own Carrier game variant (seminal stages) as I guess there isn't going to be an open source release on this (Nor would I expect one).
Thanks again

It should be WITE Quartermaster's edition. The game would have daily turns in which you have to make an inventory of all consumable items on the Russian Front.

I too wish 2by3 would jump back in the tactical realm...we need a good fresh uber WWII tactical (until then I will happily play WinSPWW2/SPWAW and HPS/JT SB games). That said WITE Quartermasters edition sounds like a lot of fun....potatoes over here...petrol over here....oh no, vodka production is falling behind!

Would sound unpopular, but my vote is for a new updated version of Witp AE without production and so many micromanagment, and with the user interface and ground combat system of WITE....[&o]
I've never been able to get into Witp 'cause more than Toho i feel iam the japanese minister of weapons, ammunition and logistics and i get tired...too much overwhelming

I don't consider myself a fanboy, but I could be persuaded to be if all this comes true.

I'm all for it. I think that the best approach would be to greate "master modules" (for example: War in the West 43-45) and then add shorter campaigns (France '40, Poland '39, Sea Lion '40) as a sort of "scenario pack", or DLC, for the related master module. It would be a rare issue where the idea of DLCs works with a wargame, IMHO.
Anyway, I hope that the engine will be developed further: it deserves it. *WE* deserve it
