But those devil Communists are now agitating again and they have started a campaign directly inside Germany. This is a dangerous development: The more the Reds gain sympathy in our homeland, the less support we will have for the war (meaning reductions in production, recruits, and other resources). We will address the threat of the Reds at home before resuming operations in the East.
Finally, a most interesting piece news: many in the Kaiser’s entourage have recently read Heinz Guderian’s monograph “Achtung Panzer”, a proposal for the use of armoured units in a much more independent and flexible way than before. In time, we may find that we have new types of units on the battlefield...
What will the future hold? It is difficult to say. Will German military and technical expertise be enough to stop the Bolshevik experiment in modern mass warfare? Is it a matter of resources, politics, strategic talent, or sheer will?
Only the future can say.
