Chip, over at Fog Of Wargames is doing a Time of Fury AAR of the beta, that would be worth folks looking at.

Maybe it's just me, but all I see is a "time of wraith" remake. I'll pass. Wastelands games always seem promising, but, IMHO, they never get it right.

Notice that Chip has never played Time of Wrath so he cannot point out any differences ;)

There are lots of features which are already present in Time of Fury, but not in the early beta he started playing (those features are being polished and constantly being added to following builds available for betas).  Indeed it is the same engine, but dramatically improved in ALL areas for a new game, also improved based on players and betas requests!  For example rails (obviously not present in ToW), which  are for transports of units and supply, are temporary damaged by a new owner of a hex...

ORIGINAL: warishere

Looks like a very ambitious title. However, it also looks like Commander - EAW
And Commander EAW looked identical to Strategic Command,thats what got me quite mad when I bought it for $39.95 and realized it was pretty much an exact copy of Strategic Command which I got for $9.

@bairdlander: Strategic Command or Panzer General? I bought Commander: Europe at War because I thought it looked a lot like Panzer General and Panzer General wouldn't run on my Vista PC. Strategic Command: European Theater is nothing more than an updated Clash of Steel.

As a playtester for Time of Fury I signed a non-disclosure agreement, so can't give any details. I only wanted to say that I have played and enjoyed MANY games of Time of Wrathe and Storm over the Pacific, and

1) Yes, Time of Fury does draw upon both of those other two games;

2) It adds substantial improvements and completely new additions not available in the other two games.

Strictly my opinion as an admitted fan of Wastelands games, but Time of Fury is so much more advanced that it is coming closer and closer to the ultimate PLAYABLE World War II in Europe game that I've craved since playing the Holy Grail of wargames, the 1970s mega epic 9-map War in Europe.

Greybriar, Clash of Steel was fantastic. Really alot of fun for me. I know some things could have been better, but I loved playing that game. Panzer General was even better. The memories! :)

The memories are always much better than the reality, but I do love Panzer General.
