Thanks Rick that was very informative. It just seemed everytime I wanted to adjust my HQ unit those movement lines would show up for every tank in the group. I hope in the future this can be made mroe like Steel Panthers and Combat Mission and only do that if you surround the whole group and then give a movement or combat order.

I would even like to see some variability on the time on the same side.  Something along the lines of tank units (fully radio equipped) having 40 second phases but infantry having 60 second phase.

But in general, I think it can be used to model superior C&C.  So early war Soviets might have 80 second phases while the highly trained Germans have 40 second phases.

And what would infantry do for the 20 seconds they were out of phase?

If the model is accurate the differences between when units get orders, and how long it takes to execute them, is already taken into account.

Good Hunting.

We somewhat have that with the Soviet delay vs German delay but not out of sync like Yooz suggests.

I don't think anyone would play that way but having the infantry sit for 20 while the tanks move is not a problem. Then the tanks would sit while the infantry finishes. The problem is that you can't have different time phases.

I haven't thought about my electronic football game in years. I am gonna have to ask my Mother about it, every now and then she finds something of mine as she roots around in the crawlspace. She found an old E.T. bobble-head dash ornament a couple months ago. My kids love it when I bring stuff like that home. Last year Stretch-Armstrong made his way back into my life, my little ones stretch him all over the place now.

When they grow up, maybe your kids will shoot Stretch-Armstrong and claim to have done a scientific study?

That would put us back to an old IGOUGO style game, wouldn't it?

Well, they might, but due to the high angle of Stretch Armstrong's chest, any rifle , save for the largest calibres, would be unable to get even a slight penetration. Plus the shoulder angle of most shells in combination with Stretch's chest angle would ensure that only about 20% of the projectile's striking surface would make contact, this would surely exclude all Weatherby Rifles from getting favourable results. I can state this with no real evidence, and based purely on my own self-serving opinion. I will follow this post up with rambling posts where I will ask questions that I already know the answers to, pooh-pooh all that disagree, and ignore any facts/questions that do not back up my own point of view. I think that I will start with this aspect of Stretch Armstrong then branch off onto another post where I will discuss how Matel missed the boat with this childs toy, and how they failed to maket to it's potential. Did I mention that fact that I am quite a mover and shaker with my Tonka Dozer?

That would work since Mattel is starting a campaign to  get more interest and sales. Mr. Stretch may be next on their list.

Good Hunting.

Maybe just cut the grass clumps and release a 'grass-less' update?

Hey hey! I spent all day yesterday making grass sprites for these things. I'm going to stick as much grass on these maps as I can before they have a cutoff.
