A Bloody Lucky Hit....

destroys one bunker....a shame, but it's not the only one we have constructed and losses are a part of war.
Elsewhere the Japanese continue to creep forward. To the north they battle and drive back another one of our units that was acting as a part of our "trip wire" line.
In the center and the south there are still some minor contacts that are made and then broken off.
Everywhere Goblin continues to lay down arty barrages...our own artillery remains silent for now. They will be more useful once the Japanese hit our main line of defense.
man...I hope all the PC people out there appreciate the fact that I'm typing out the word Japanese...even with a injuried hand.

Now three enemy tanks have been spotted! Another Valentine, which worries us not, and a Matilda CS tank. We have learned to respect its fearsome howitzer, and thick skin in prior battles, and will not underestimate the beast this time.
More Anzac infantry have routed, faced with the skilled warriors of Japan!
Indeed, there are more pillboxes and bunkers, and we have located some of them. They are easily neutralized with a simple smoke round! (Or a 150mm HE thru the roof;) :p )
Poor Aussie soldier. Surrender, and you can go back to your party. Your officers have misled you, we are friendly, and enjoy a good party ourselves! No need to die when we could drink a beer together!

Ok...one lucky hit on a bunker and it's "surrender Aussies"? I think not. You underestimate our will to stand and fight the good fight.
Your arty is fearsome perhaps...but it can't win the battle on it's own. Your infantry and mortar squads only have so much smoke they can pop to cover your forward units...and I've seen them pop quite a bit already. All this and you've only just entered the "trip wire" line of my defenses....what will they have left when they finally do get to my main defense line?
No my little Japanese "friends" we'll stick it out despite the offer to have a few beers. After all, it will mean more beers for us once you have been sent packing!

That was your last chance!
I see we have scared you. Your arty finally speaks. Wimpy arty. Show us the real guns. The hidden guns.
Anzies die this turn, like every turn. Soon they all die, because they are not friendly, and buy the propoganda their officers are selling!
Goblin- A Goblin made a generous offer:rolleyes:

The Japanese are still laying down a tremendous amount of arty
( you sure that was only 20%....or did you only use 20% for none arty units?

) and their infantry is pushing forward slowly behind the smoke.
We smack another AC and send a couple units retreating back into the smoke...but it's still a down and dirty struggle.
The real question is (for me at least) where the Hell is my re-inforcements!?!?!

Now we have some hitting going on. A Valentine died, flanked and hit four times by a blade tank's 47mm gun. An enemy 3.7 inch AA gun has killed two armored cars. BOOM! With the assist, a 2lb ATG.
Two pillboxes and a 3.7 inch AA gun worked over several of my blade tanks, but most of the kills went to one pillbox. BOOM.BOOM.BOOM!
Two pillboxes died, as engineering tanks pour jellied gasoline into them...WHOOOOOSH...BOOM!
It looks like our honorable foes have been brainwashed by their evil officers, and will fight the good Japanese people.

It is therefore doing them a favor when we issue the order.... NO PRISONERS. All surrendering enemy troops to be beheaded. We will cleanse them of the hypnosis. We are helpful.
Goblin- A Goblin plucks Eagles:mad:
Two more Japanese....

tanks get their armor scored by AT rounds....BOOM BOOM!!!
The smoke on the battle field is horrendous...it blankets almost the entire mid section of the map.
Of course it has had it advantages for me as well as my Japanese counter-part...some of his units have come out of the smoke bank and directly onto the sights of my guns...guess you have to take the good with the bad.
There is other good news...besides toasting about a half dozen of Goblin's tanks...the much sought after re-inforcements have just arrived.
As for the goobley gock about brainwashed soldiers and what not...HA! Do what you will...you're threats only make my men more determined to brave the storm. My Aussies and Kiwi's will never surrender...NEVER!!!

Threaten me with the Five Warfaces, eh?! Bring your reinforcements on, more bad guys to kill!
Another pillbox is a crispy critter, and another Valentine or two joined my blasted tanks.
I caught an Anzac Engineering unit in AN OPEN FIELD, with a FLAME TANK! WHOOOOOSH. Nothing?!?!
Fine, suck flame again. WHOOOOOSH. AAAARRRRGGGHHH! Thats better!:D
A pillbox tore hell out of an infantry squad, with 6 casualties on the first MG, and 2 on the second. Ouch. Ouch again.
Pretty soon I will stop the harassing fire, and begin the general bombardment.:p

This just in....
The Anzac forces are now the bad guys, while the Japanese forces are now the good guys. You will be kept apace of any further status changes...

The weight of Goblins advance is beginning to tell on my brave lads.
The arty has over the last three turns really started to leave its mark...but what else can be expected of these poor bastards after the tremendous pounding they have endured thus far? I'm actually quite surprised it took this long for the effects of the non-stop thumping to kick in.
But, regardless of the plight I may be in...my men fight on. We have inflicted a fair amount of damage on the invaders. The number of burning Japanese armor on the field is a testimony that we have and will continue to fight hard.
To combat the enemy infantry a swarm of light tanks speeds forth...machine guns blazing. These amazing, reckless tankers of mine are even trying to pin down Japanese armor with their small machine guns!!! Brave??? Foolish??? Drunk??? Who knows...who cares?!?! They are just doing their part in making a gallant stand!
And before you say it Goblin-san....NO SURRENDER!!! None of my boys will see the inside of a POW camp...they've all voted to go down swinging!

A WAVE of Anzac tanks has hit our advance! These are not typical Anzac cowards! These are brave men, in MkVI's. Their 15mm MG's are tearing my infantry up, but have been unable to kill much armor so far.
They wade into my tank guns, and only lost a single tank! I dropped a large percentage of my artillery on the biggest group of them...
Goblin- A Goblin admires dash:D
Brave Bastards Indeed!!!

Yes, these fine young Aussies and Kiwi's roar forward in their thin-skinned AFV's machine gunning all that cross their pathes!!!
In the south and center...there are not enough of them to stem the flood of Japanese armor and infantry...and they are heavily hit by arty as they strike forth. Despite this attention and over-whelming odds they still fight on.
To the north a different story is emerging. One more Japanese tank gets plowed...then come my gallant armored cavalry units!!! More chewed up Japanese infantry are sent fleeing back into the smoke banks!

Arrhhhh....take that!!!
How long can these gallant men hold out? Hard to say...but any victory is going to cost Goblin dearly!

A few of the brave tankers have ceased to hold...
Withdraw, Anzac! You live long, happy life!

So have two Japanese tanks, an armored car and three infantry squads!
Not to mention my "Wild Colonial Boys" ( as my tankers have dubbed themselves ) have, after killing off the above, sent about two or three more squads fleeing backwards from whence they came!
Yes....we continue to fight...all the way until the death!!!

The destruction being caused by my arty is even scaring me a little bit!
The destruction being caused by my flame tanks is too!:p
His AA guns are butchers!:(
Rice is good!:D
Up for Grabs....

Chased off some more infantry up north...and banged up some cav units in the center.
To the south is a different story...fast approaching the time to send in the second "relief force" to that sector in an effort to restore order there.
Arty still raining down every single turn. The ground is a moonscape now...and the smoke is worse than LA in the 80's!
