I just pitched a tent.:p :D

Goblin, I hope that tent's not on the Canadian side. I'm not resposible for any incidents a la Collins ;)
Okay, so in the north, my forces are fairly supressed and rapidly diminishing in number. The infantry on the hill are relieved by one Tiger, while three more remain below. I kill an AT team, and inflict minor damage to other squads. In the center, my forces are confused and hesitant. Should I plunge into the woods to try to capture the VHs, or should I wait for him to come out? The answer is that I want to be close to avoid being shelled, but I need to get my Tigers in safely. So far, I've lost two Sturmtigers and had a Tiger immobilized by infantry while trying to sneak into the forest. I do kill some random infantrymen, but basically I'm just too chicken to play in the forest. In the south, I am on a killing spree. Dead Canadians litter the blasted landscape. For some reason, my rash armor advance, largely unsupported by infantry, pays huge dividends. For the loss of about 8 infantrymen, I kill about 12 squads, three Achilles (one by Flak Pz IV, two by Panther), and two Wasps. I'm sure there's more to find, but my infantry can mop up anything left behind my tanks. Where shall I go next? At any rate, the artillery does nothing again.

Inspired by a Goblin on the sidelines, my Canadians show a little fight this turn. We take out a Sturmtiger and a Wirbelwind by infantry assault and in a heroic effort, an M10 Achilles fires left and nails Konigstiger, then pivots right and kills another.

In the battle for the hill on the north edge, we sweep the remainding infantry and are now in position to take the VH's behind it.

Hmm, this is really a disgusting slaughter. I probably only have about 150 men left. It's my armor vs. his infantry. In the north, all my men are dead, but a surviving Tiger kills a Sherman. In the center, I shoot up some infantry, but don't kill anything. On the road leading to his rear, there is a fierce little engagement as two Panthers and a Wirblewind all hit 2 Achilles, damaging both. Supporting infantry and another Wirblewind kill some enemy squads and an MMG. In the southern woods, confusion reigns. I find his units by running into them. I kill two squads, and have a third pinned. I know that my tanks are approaching his mortar positions, but they can't spot the mortars yet. I'll probably have to drive in circles to get them to turn up.

So now I have no infantry in the north, and only a few men in the center. I have about 60 men in the south where opposition is light. I wish my units would stop breaking down. I have 4 immobilized units of armor that would be very useful. Action this turn:
North: Nothing.
Center: I kill the crew of an Achilles, get some of my lame cannon fodder supressed or destroyed, but then come back to kill three crews and two rifle squads. I find a tank, but I have to run away.
South: Almost nothing. I kill a rifle squad and my motorcyclists find a 4.2" mortar to shoot at.
My Nebelwerfers kill 6-7 men around the map.

This post belongs after the next one.

Yes, this is indeed a disgusting slaughter:eek:

In the north, an infantry anti-tank squad sneaks up to point blank range on a Konigtiger and destroys it, clearing the last obstacle to our counterattack on his right flank. Infantry squads sweep over the hill, gunning down the few surviving SS troopers and take the objectives.

In the center we hold our own, immobilizing a Wirbelwind and killing at least a platoon of infantry, including the German HQ unit. We also lose an M10 trying to ambush his 2 Tigers.

My right flank (southern edge) has collapsed completely. Survivors fall back toward the center and try to reform a defensive line.

8" howitzers rain shells down on the two advancing Tigers and kill many unspotted infantrymen.

This is looking like a heavyweight boxing match in the 12th round. Both sides, exhausted and spent, are trying to hold on for the duration while looking for a knockout blow.

I manage to kill a few infantry, but this iscountered by inaccurate bombardment, that kills afew of my own.

Friendly fire isn't friendly.

The game continues to wind down.

Not much happening, my infantry is advancing on 2 disabled Konigtigers in the center and we secure the north central objectives and move toward a Sturmtiger holding the central objectives..

In the south I retake my home VH's and try to maintain a line of defense to cover the collapsed right flank.

Not very much shooting this turn. My attempt to retake the northern VHs is a failure, soon he will kill my last infantry. I kill two retrating mortars in the rear, and magle a third. In the center, I retake all the VHs, dispersing three squads of infantry. My bombardment kills his HQ, and a rifle sec.

I don't accomplish nearly that much this turn. I kill a scout team and an MMG, and inflict 1 casualty on some commandos.

I hate my infantry. Anyway, this turn I chase a unit from the central VHs and a Tiger surges from the woods to backdoor some infantry, killing three units. I destroy two other MMGs and attempt to halt his advance in the center. I also kill another fleeing mortar.

Not sure what happened on his turn. Anyway, on my turn, another Tiger jumps a 3in mortar. I can tell I've missed some of his mortars, because my rear area marauders are spotted. I also kill a few infantry squads and have a productive bombardment.

Jumping in late her, so this should precede the last post.

You didn't miss much, Seth. I killed some more infantry and, as you said, spotted more tanks wandering in the backfield.

I can't scratch his tanks, my artillery is out of ammo, and I have one Sherman V left.

At this point, I'm just hoping I killed enough of his high value units to salvage a draw, but the field belongs to Seth. :D

Turn 19 of 20

My exhausted Canadians manage to take a few more V hexes.

1 more turn to go!
