For me, I am not so sure I want many games "redone" so much as I would like to see games that were done well, released as new variations.

Sadly, most of my list is made up of board games though. (so not very applicable).

Most of the computer games I have that cause me trouble, are only trouble thanks to being ornery where OS is concerned.

I think Third Reich (PC) being remade up to Advanced Third Reich concepts would be nice.

I would not mind seeing Computer World in Flames finally becoming a finished item.

To dredge up a topic that was big a while back here, I would like to see Up Front reach finished status for the computer.

I would also not mind seeing Columbia Games convert their game Victory the Blocks of War into a computer version. Shouldn't be to hard, they did it with their Russian Front game.

Mid Winter and Sword of Aragon. Definetly ahead of their time when they came out. Had cult followings in the 286 days.

(good topic)

Muahahahahahahhahaha, I nearly fell of my chair when noticing this. A dream come true. Almost 20 years after it surfaced. Great.

Ahhhh yes. Picking through Skara Brae. I forget how many sequels there were, but there were quite a few. Now if only they'd make a decent non-scripted dynamic Pirates game I'd be happy. Hopefully Sid pulls Pirates2 out of his azz and it doesn't turn out as another ho-hum affair like so many others.

I think Matrix should get the rights to Harpoon4. At least then I KNOW it will be published one day, not like the current sorry state of affairs.

Actually the whole intro screen is rather funny.

If the game can live up to the sense of humour in this screen, then I might want to know more.

RtM supposedly is still alive and will be a webbased only play game afaik.
Screenies and the idea still making me drool. For tactical scale we now luckily have Panther Games AA, but for grand strategic we still have to wait.

Bard's Tale! Used to play that on a 64K Amstrad in days of yore. I got a lot more enjoyment out of that game than I have from Icewind Dale 2.

The Encyclopaedia of Ancient Battles deserves to be re-made. Then again, I suppose Rome:Total War is it's modern equivalent.

Hehe. Yeah that's one of the first things I checked out. With a sense of humor like that it's a shoe-in. I still go back on occasion to get my cursor slapped and get Pop-up spammed by the guard on the left. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. :p

Thanks for finding that Marc.

Firaxis and Sid Meier are redoing this, according to their announcement at E3.

Age of Rifles works fine under Windows, despite SSI's recommendation to run it in full DOS mode, Norm said he designed it to work in a Windows 95 DOS box.

Personally I'd prefer to see some of the really old SSI games updated, like Battles of Napoleon or Batlles of the ACW.

An update of SSG's classic Carriers at War would be nice too.

X-COMMMMMMM!

Man that game was great. I would buy it even if it were just a graphical update.

Discussable if it´s a worthy "sequel" though

Other games I'd like to see re-done:

1) Panzer General 2 - this was the best in the series IMO, and the player support for this game (after 6 years) is higher now than ever before. There are currently 130 NEW campaigns, hundreds of new maps, etc.

I'd like to see a new game based on the best of what PG2 has to offer, with improvements in the size of maps, campaign editors, graphics, supply, reinforcements, weather, etc. There is already a user-fan base who create icons, maps, e-files, etc. Keep the game turn-based with similar, but improved, icons.

I think this type of "beer and pretzels" type wargame would help draw in the younger players who are not accustomed to wargames.

2) Pacific General - Do a similar game, with the same type of icons, turn-based, but with better graphics, maps, etc.

3) Carrier Strike - I thoroughly enjoyed this older game, and I think a similar game with up-dated graphics, allowing the player to "enter" the carrier to assign planes, to fuel and arm planes, etc would be a great game for the Pacific War.

Cheers!
