Now the question is how can we do that and still make the game fun to play.
Create a HQ ONLY command would work for me. The rest of the platoon/squad would maintain the orders they have and then if I want to change something individually but not all I can just click and change only on the ones I want to.

We're also considering a "reverse LOS" check in the future, where clicking on a sighted enemy unit will indicate which friendly units can see it.
Yes Yes this is a very good idea.
We're also considering a "reverse LOS" check in the future, where clicking on a sighted enemy unit will indicate which friendly units can see it. You are correct that right now you need to click through the plausible friendly units that could see a particular enemy to see which ones have LOS to a particular enemy unit.

Small battles are okay and pretty easy to handle. But what about bigger battles?
How do you tell when a unit is firing at one of your units? On the HUD is your entire OOB display. That display can be larger than a single screen and for larger OOB's it scrolls.
On that HUD you can look at a glance to see which of your units is targeted because it's highlighted in a tan color. When you have one of your own units high selected the entire platoon will have a maroon highlight applied to them and the unit in the platoon you are looking at will have it's silhouette filled in with a gold color.
If you want to see whose firing at you the click the unit in question and all enemy units targeting that unit will have a yellow targeting line going back to them.
Good Hunting.

This seems to work well, as far as I can see.
But I would appreciate various infantry icons in the HUD (and on the field) to distinguish AT team and HMG, at least.

Agreed, that's on our to-do list for the next release as well. We plan to add variety to the icons both on the HUD and the floating icons, as well as add more information on casualties/damage and morale state to the HUD.

Is it possible for me to select my own troops in generated battle VS AI / PBEM? I have not found the way yet.

Generated battles are done by the Random Battle Generator. Key word here is Random.
One trick is to use the x2 option. That will give you twice the number of units than your point total allows. Then you can pick and chose from the left panel purchase window.
In order to fine tune what gets on the list, you need to create a preset xml with only the units that you want to appear and then select that preset in the RBG.

Thanks for everyone who gave me accurate answers to my questions. The PCO test will be published next month in the French PC4War magazine. I will give here the link to the lay-out when it will be available.
You'll have to follow the link to see the score (on 10), [;)] but I can say that the test concludes that PCO is a "good game that will be improved" and that it is a serious challenger to Combat Mission (first series).

8/10 is quite a good score in PC4War magazine. [:)]
ThoughI made at least one mistake : when I compare PCO to CM, I write that CM has no extended artillery fire, which is not true. [&:]
