277,334 Kb. I would look over the list of fixes and decide based on that. It sounds like Erik is hoping to have another beta version in a week or so.

thanks

A big part of the download is spellir's improved infantry models and skins.

You might as well join the member's club anyway. You can use the same screen name, you just need a different password. Then register all your Matrix games.

I think Spellir's improved infantry models are superb. Can anyone please adjust them so we can see the full squad of 10 soldiers again, like Sztartur did?

I don't have PCO installed on this computer. I'll say that the helmets are rounder and the small details are crisper.

You should be able to go to the members section on download it from there.

this hasn't been made into an official update yet, it's a public beta available to members, if you are ok with playing with a beta patch.

Thanks
rick

This patch allows the Russians to ue the "bound" command--at least it pops up as a choice. Is that intended?

Only if Soviets have AOW instead of SOW. Was this seen in a random battle or set battle or every battle?

The Biggest & the Badest scenario. Only one I've looked at (doing a PBEM with a friend).

The Soviets started the war with SOW. As the war progressed the Soviets changed to AOW. Since that scenario is May 1945, the designer decided to have the Soviets with AOW. He may also have given the Germans SOW to represent the breakdown in German structure late in the war.

Science of War
From Soviet Airland Battle Tactics, William P. Baxter
Seminal to the structure of Soviet military theory is the Marxist perception that the historical process is governed by discoverable laws in much the same way that natural processes are governed by discoverable laws of nature. According to this perception, laws are defined as "... the essential, stable or repetitious interrelationships according to which the seemingly chaos of observable historical phenomena or facts interact" Although observed facts and phenomena have a number of interrelationships, not all are essential or repetitious. Thus, relationships that are unique to a specific event, even if they were critical to that event, do not qualify as laws and are therefore scientifically unimportant.

That's someones fantasy.

It could be someones fantasy or it's a way to make a particular scenario more realistic.

The German Kampfgruppe was made up of testing ground technicians with vehicles that were in various stages of the testing process. The Soviets were at their most experienced.

The very reason the scenario editor has choices for you to include in scenarios is that not every situation is the same. I don't try to make scenarios that force the historical results on gamers. I try to make scenarios that put you in the commanders shoes, at a point I think is the most interesting in the original historical action.

That may not be what some gamers are looking for. It's apparently not what you're looking for. That's okay. I make my scenarios to suit me and once I get them to the point I'm happy with them I share them with others.

Whether or not I've made this scenario/operation end up in the realm of fantasy depends on what my goal for the scenario/operation was in the first place.

We spent weeks doing research on the battle location, the actual battle results, and the final resting place of the Maus. The Biggest and Baddest is my interpretation of that research and the original action. If my interpretation of the action doesn't suit your gaming tastes there are plenty of other scenarios/operations in the game, that I didn't design, that I'm sure you'll like.

Good Hunting.

I have the beta running. Question - when I run the "check for updates" it says there is a newer version of PCOF. If I let it run, will it simply remove my beta and put it back to where I started? I hesitate to 'update' until I know it's truely and update (as in improvement).
