as opposed to you I prefer to leave a lone division in contact (prefer with a lot of unit)
of course it will not make great but attrition losses will grow
allways better to erode them [:D]

I think avoiding routs and encirclements trumps attrition for the first 17 turns. As soon as mud hits though I will stay in permanent contact.

Nice work sveint... I recently started my first GC 41 as Axis so I'm following your AAR as a rough gauge to my own progress.

A teeny request though, could you please put the date after the turn number? For example, turn 6 (Jul 24th) - I'm rather date obsessive [:D]

Turn 7, 7/31/1941

Not much happening. We make a few failed counterattacks in the southwestern front. In the far south a panzer division crosses the river.

Report will be brief as I played a bit fast. We were worried there was a bug not letting the Axis fly their aircraft, but apparently the bug was in OKH which had set required to fly to 100%. No screenshot from the south unfortunately: the panzers are advancing across the river in the very far south.

Turn 9, 8/14/1941

Quite a bad week. Many units rout, a couple even shatter. Industry still not fully evacuated from Bryansk.

The river line will not hold much longer. Fortunately there is absolutely no threat of encirclement from the north.

The Axis will capture the Crimea before mud comes. Not sure why they'd want it though.

Careful with the Leningrad area. He could be going for a right hook to cut the ports and trap a lot of troops. You are not very well dug in to resist such a move.

Otherwise, the situation looks fairly good for you for the most part.

I expect to evacuate most of Leningrad within a turn or two. I'd rather lose the city than have a large number of troops surrounded.

Turn 10, 8/21/41

All fronts and armies now have at least decent leaders. Army support structure is mostly complete, a minimum of 2 artillery, 1 howitser, 1 AA battalion, 1 sapper battalion per army.

Northern front

Germans slowly advance. I don't think there is any chance of any major pockets. A small garrison will be left in Leningrad.

Northwest front

Quite weak defense, but there is nothing but forests to defend. More troops will be available from Leningrad soon.

Reserve front

Strong entrenchments and fresh troops make it unlikely that the Germans will be able to break through to the north of Moscow.
