Thanks very much.

I played several campaigns in "Chess" mode. and like it so much, that I would like to see it made a regular option.
Actually there is still some luck factor , with rugged defense, or evade.

I think you can't set up this mode until you have the "hand", for example in scenario like Italy or D-Day you have to wait until the allies complete there first turn to enter the code.

I have no problem with luck in face to face but for solo play I rather focus on the big picture, and don't want to reload after poor combat results.

It is also a great way to learn about the combat system and the unit strength and weakness as those are not disturbed by random factor.

For me its the amount of randomness and the frequency it occurs. Variations from the prediction happen way too often and the amount of difference can be staggering with only 10 SPs or less to work with. The amount should only vary +- 1 from the prediction and not +-3 or 4. I wouldn't mind an occasional, rare +-3 or 4 result but it should be very rare. When you have a good attack set up with a unit of 8 SPs and you unexpectedly lose 3-4 SPs, then that renders that unit unfit for further combat. Its just too much and it happens too often. My two cents worth for today!

Pound them with arty until they are red then you won't get a bad surprise. Maybe they want us to use Combined arms inf, and arty, and tanks, and planes in such a fashion to minimize casualties like rather than wasting a units move turn because it is at 4 because you rushed the attack "waste" a turn moving the necessary units into place to obliterate the enemy so that losses are so few that you go onto the next objective without having to reinforce units. I have tried this but it does not work perfectly so I go bye bye now lmao
