Keeping track of my replacement movements and manpower pool... this turn reinforcements went to the units in "refit" almost exclusively. Manpower pool and arms are in good shape so I must be reaching somekind of limit... I had at least half a dozen rifle divisions understrength and not in refit this turn..

Helio uses his panzer to slug towards Leningrad without a lot of fantasy... through the middle.. It has me worried though as his infantry is behind..
Dig.. dig.. DIG for gods sake

Smolensk under threat, but he won't be able to envelop next turn.. He is seriously short of fuel and supplies. I managed to isolate a good portion of his mobile forces this turn..

Thoughts?
EDIT whoops, forgot to add the red and black lines... You get the Dnepr line.. the secondary line will be an extension of the cavalry army up north..
Any ideas on that bend in the Dnepr?

Good results on airfield defense duty... I guess Helio tries to clear the way for aerial resupply... VVS shoots down 20 bombers. Still do not see a reason to pull the airforce into the national reserve!

Nice job on cutting up some of his drives, as I learned the hard way, it really slows down his blitz's. I'm not a major stats guy but yours are presented in a understandable manor and something interesting to keep track of. [;)]

I think you could use the terrain better. Swamps and even light forests are free forts. Some units are in the open right next to better terrain.

Northern and Northwestern fronts deploy in entrenchements to stop AGN from reaching Leningrad. At the moment the outcome is unsure, Helio is approaching the city and just straight on attacks Leningrad...

A nice pocket around elements of 9th army.. I really want to extract them

God doesn't like soviet talented generals... Georgy Zhukov, commanding Northern Front dies while visiting the front line troops... Actually having some trouble on the northern front as the germans push closer and somehow a few fortified hexes dissappear allowing the finnish army to penetrate the "no move line" forcing me to shift some firepower to the northern city border.. I guess it is just one of those days.

Helio exploits east. He is advancing fast but over a very narrow front opening his flank for counterattack.. I am able to somewhat threaten his line west of Velikie Luki. He has no defense what so ever there due to his focus in the North and center below Moscow.
I manage to cutoff 253 infantry division

Turn 8

Helio is using his armour in narrow front thrusts with infantry following behind.. Looks like he is not focusing his effort on destroying units, but more on getting to critical industry areas fast..
There is so much to be evacuated in the south that I don't think I will get everything out in time..

Losses vs reinforcements

First 4 turns are clustered together because I only started to keep track after turn 4. Losses as mentioned are "as is" just before pressing end of turn soviets.
