Thanks to build-up, presence of infantry divisions and favourable deployment of enemy troops I was able to penetrate deep and create decent pocket. I was really pleased, but my joy lasted only until I started next turn.

Thanks to superior tactical ability Soviet units managed to break ring of encirclement. Nicely done.

Transitory turn in the south. Infantry moves forward accompanied by trucks filled with petrol - 4 Hq build-ups.

Looking good. Arms are out by the looks, so pocket what you can.

When Flaviusx was fighting me in south I was able to bag about 12 to 17 untis a turn. Which doesn't sound like much, but I was able to get his army under 4 mill and he had to withdraw from south.

So look to pocket even 2 to 6 units at a time.

Great job in center.

So basicly pocket units and take out as much manpower as you can. The south holds the most which can be easly over run, but Leningrad or Moscow will make a big dent and he will be fighting for them. Which means you have more chances for pockets.

The only way to hit the arm number now is if you are advancing as fast as humanly possible. I think in north you stopped advancing and he did not feel he had to evac Leningrad.

Anyways nice job so far.

New turn, new troubles.

I am weak and he is strong, so I is not hard to guess result of that equation - my advance got slow down to snail pace.

Pretty unsuccessful turn in the centre too. I sealed the pocket (much smaller than initially), but got brutally stopped when I tried to change direction of attack to north east.

Developments in the south didn't bring me any closer to victory either. I bulldozed my way north to widen front and create more options in next turn. Defence was strong and my infantry not too numerous so effect wasn't great - my flanks are fragile and supply route (MP wise) very long.

While maintaining direct advance towards I decided to create myself more option by attacking around lake Ilmen.

I pushed east a bit and created little pocket. I have to be realistic - Encircled won;t give me many opportunities to surround his troops, so I take what he gives and I am happy with that.

My forces are too weak to achieve anything but push Encircled's defensive line 1 hex backwards.

My panzers got a bit of rest and in the mean time infantry has crossed another river. All in all nothing, check-board will move 4-5 hexes east.

If you dont jump the Russian player shit and keep him running from turn 1 on your toast.

Its much much harder to play German side even with the friendly patchs.

2 bad turns and your done. Russians can have 5 or 6 diasters in a row and still save the game.

Its very very important as German to

Push uber hard early and change tactics during 4 to 7.

Checker board is easy to smoke, but you have to start pocketing units as soon as they do it. It took me a while vs you in south, but after a few turns the checker board fell apart.
Not easy, but can be done.

Your doing ok in north should be able to take Leningrad, center really means nothing start digging soon and south pocket the checker board asap. A bunch of easy surrenders down there.

As long as I advance I will have some nice opportunities, and getting 3M casualties is absolute priority.

Same old story - slowly forward. If I had more divisions I could have put some pressure near lake Ilmen. Well, I don't. Thankfully NKVDs regiments are gone, so Encircled has to keep some combat units at Finish border.

To keep my opponent occupied I changed direction of my advance to north-east. His lines look strong, terrain is rather unfavourable, but advancing armies are in good shape, so I attack.
