Re-did the tests anyway. Results confirm that changing to Country Codes 42 and 100 does provide emergency reinforcements as before. I'm in process of changing all Kuriles, et al from 101 to 100. Before I post that pwhex - are you guys still currently changing the stacking values? If so I can wait and make the changes to your output.

Here is a view of what I did in the Indian Ocean. I also tested the non-base coastal hexes beside Socotra and Dante (they do yield reinforcements):

Most excellant work! Party on, witpqs!

Indeed.....i will use this for my mod. Might even use it for other inner def zone bases.

Do test whatever you change in case there is also code regarding hex #s involved. For example, the changes near Socotra only work because the hex #s all happen to be above the "line of death".

Yes. I would recommend waiting a teensy bit before putting it out for general distribution.

There's some background tweaks in values and identification of certain 'unlimited' hexes going on. No telling what will finalize, but it should be set very soon.

Also some discussion going on about activation that might make some of your changes moot. Please don't ask what they are, but they should be resolved soon as well, one way or t'other.

There might be some other uses for country codes other than activation. I don't know. Never looked at that part of the code. Frankly, it scares heck out of me. But I am talking to Andrew and Michael and if everything is copasetic, I'll sure let you know. Maybe one of them can chime in with their thoughts.

Basically, ok for mods, but with a caution. Nice thing is if something needs to be tweaked back, a re-tweaked pwhexe won't disturb on ongoing game [;)]

Wish I knew more and could be more helpful, but ... Ciao. John

That's cool, exactly the answer I was looking for. Not details, just "still in process, hold up a bit".

Okey dokey then. Michael has added Code 41 to the emergency reinforcement check (1108q9, I think), so not necessary to tweak ownership for the NW map areas. Shouldn't effect stock play, since there's only a couple of on-map Code 41 hexes in stock and, as Andrew Brown has commented, if Japan had attacked Socotra, all sorts of fewmets would hit the windmill.

Adding Code 101 would cause some problems with stock play, because there's so many 101 hexes. They include Kuriles, Sakhalin, Ryukyus, Nanpo Shoto (Bonins, Shimas, etc). But one could mod the Kuriles to 100 if desired.

Nice! [:)]

I'm not concerned about Kuriles, etc. myself, but I'm willing to mod the pwhex for anyone who is concerned about it in their game.
