test photo #2 - how do I get this photo - or similar - under my name on he left - do I check "ad signature" below?
You need to go to My profile on the top of the page and look at "My Avatar" and "Set up profile photo". Haven't done it in a while so I'm not 100% sure which one
[edit]Also has to conform to certain size

You do realise this scenario finishes 2 April, 43 ... some of the longer repairs should be left to just sit there ...
AT LONG LAST!! I've been trying to find out the finish date. I am now @ 9-9-42. So it's about 200 days left. BB NC has 97 days left @ Normal. 59 days @ High but may have PAT in the red if I have a 2nd CA in the shipyard.. What are the disadvantages of doing that? I want to at least get my BB and CAs back.
Not having much luck cropping so far in Paint. I have Windows XP. Any tips? I'll try to edit it in My Pictures & see what happens.
I'm going to check Add Sig. box below & see what happens.

It's not just learning to crop, but also how to resize the canvas as I did in the video - that's why you're leaving a load of white space (canvas area). I realise you're on an older version of windows, but you should be able to do similar in your version of paint.
I think I've figured out how to crop.I put the photo into my Kodak system & cropped it there. Let's see if it works here.

Yea! Finally got all the photo details worked out including cropping - I think. Apologies for all the posts, but I had to test it somewhere. Thanks again, Damien. I like this one, also shown above, but it wouldn't fit on left:

I haven't played the Guadalcanal scenario, but when I looked in the scenario selection screen, it said the end date is February 8, 1943. So it looks like you only have about 150 days left. You may have to make a choice: repair the battleship and have her for about two months, or repair the cruisers.
Melbourne has a 15,000 ton shipyard, so you can send a cruiser and a couple of destroyers there. You don't have enough shipyard capacity to repair everything at once, so you'll have to decide on your priorities.

There is a repair manager in the game that will manage your shipyards for you. You can put more ships in the shipyard than it can handle - just not any ships that are larger than the shipyard can handle.
If there are more ships in the shipyard (and you do not override), the repair manager will work on them in a set order. Basically major combatants down to merchants. It will fix what it can, moving different ships "into the yards" when it can. Alternately, if there is unused yard capacity the repair manager will increase the priority of ships as it is able to best use the available yard capacity. You may notice that a single ship in a shipyard does not repair faster when you up the priority. That's because the repair manager is already doing that behind the scenes.
The whole thing was set up to run without you doing anything.
But you can use the priority options to control what ships get "first dibs" on repair capacity. For fastest repair of an important ship, put it into the shipyards all by itself and then up the priority to the highest level that can be handled. The screen will tell you. Then use any remaining capacity for smaller ships. Or, you can fill the yards and use "low" priority to designate ships that suck the hind teet.
To be specific. With a 50,000 shipyard you can not put any ships larger than 50,000 tons into the yards. But you can put multiple smaller ships in, even if their combined tonnage exceeds 50,000. The repair manager will sort it out - obeying your priority settings if possible.

Feb 8, 1943 is the 'official' date the Japanese finally left Guadal for cooler climes!
Any photo editor, such as Photoshop Elements, will easily allow you you to crop and resize images. There are many freeware programs and utilities to do the same. Gimp is a freeware photo editor which offers much of the functionality of Photoshop.

Hi Spruance,
Cropping in Paint is probably just a simple. Examine the attached image.
Use this tool to cut out the piece you need. It works by clicking the left mouse button (if right handed) and dragging a banding box around the piece of the image you are interested in.
Once you have marked the region as in the image make a copy of it Menu->Edit->Copy (Ctrl-C).
You can then paste this into a new image into paint and then save as a jpeg file.
