A few questions about altitudes:
Is there any difference for DBs in attacks at 10k vs 14k feet? Better or worse accuracy? More or less damage from flak? Seems like there ought to be...
For LBs/attack aircraft, similar question: what are the pros and cons of attacking at 1k vs 5k for naval targets?
Should the 2nd to last line on page 8 actually read "(3)Group altitude >7k"?

If an AA gun you are flying against has a ceiling of 13k and you fly at 14k, that is far better than flying at 10-13k...

Unloading rates with different ship types are an excellent resource to include in this I would think. That leadership table as well..

I think that an aircraft takes AA fire at the incoming altitude and then again at the release altitude. So a DB arriving at 14,000 feet and then dive bombing and releasing at 3000 feet would take two AA fire checks, one at 14,000 and one at 3,000. TB work the same also. A level bomber or DB/TB set to level bomb will only take one AA fire check since the arriving and release altitude are the same.

Thanks Skyros for the great resource! One question, the sheet that lists the various altitudes for types of bombers - why aren't Torpedo bombers listed? What are the advantages of the altitudes? I do remember seeing something that TBs without torpedos will glide-bomb at certain altitudes.
I am always trying to figure out good settings for my carrier groups, I usually use 12-13K for the dive bombers and torpedo bombers, but I notice the default for the TBs is 9K? If there is too much seperation, will they have trouble with a coordinated attack (I know they do on land) or is there something that will override that so carrier groups fly together? Same with the fighters, do they need to be set to the same as the DBs/TBs, or can they be up at 15K?

A list "What Airport size is necessary for a plan" is missing

DBs will dive bomb from 10-14 thousand ft, and glide bomb from 16-19 thousand ft. What about 15,000 ft?

Unless things have changed with the latest patch, they dive bomb when set to 15k feet.

Its 10 to 14k. 15k is now glide..

Well, I can now confirm that with the new official patch, 1108r9, SBD's set at 15k feet executed dive bombing attacks last turn, releasing bombs at 2000 feet.

Yep, ask Steve-O. [:)]
But, don't ask him about savaging my shipping around Noumea with his CV's. We don't need that propaganda repeated. [:D]

DUDE! IT AIN'T PROPAGANDA WHEN IT'S TRUE! [:-][:D] Why don't you explain that ALL your divebombers are now landbased? And why? [:D]

That is NOT the important part! [:-]
All that matters is that my DB's actually dive bomb from 15k feet. [:D]
