field notes..
The mood in the staff seems remarkably upbeat... Evan though 30 Corps has blown through the defenses and races toward Nijmegen, The panzer release and multiple day two reinforcements are cause for some joy. I even saw Model smile while reading a dispatch about the over running of drop zones...
Everyone needs to eat sleep and more importantly have ammo.. day three and four will see if we can anihilate the intruders before they are relieved...
Model is even debating moving his hq closer to NJ to shorten his comm lines...
Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to surrender in place and allow the Brits into Germany... the reports from the East, especially the non published ones make victory for our foes a given... but this is not to be.. we fight on...

Ohh..to much micromanagement for me.

Also see my thread from earlier...I found I suffered way more casualties micromanaging compare to giving orders to regiment. Over a period of two hours micromanaging (well micromanage support units and give battalion orders for the rest) I took 296 casualties, I did the same two hours giving out orders to Regiment and received just over 100 casualties.

I enjoy the slightly higher level command role as I think you can tell the game was designed for that style of play (What with different leader stats etc). If you order to every unit then you bypass all that side of the game.

Still each to their own, as long as you have fun.

Good AAR, keep it up.

I feel that it is ok to micromanage when you are the defensive player.  You get to protect specific passages and weed out those isolated paratrop companies.
Not as frantic as well as they just sit there and wait. Not much strain to cental HQ.

But when you are attacking, I think it's better to give orders at larger formations, that way they are more coordinated.

Reagrding MS Paint... make your deafult image size (for new image) smaller.  When you paste the screenshot I think it will expand anyway.

oh on the defence I do micromanage alot more.

In gimp 2 you put a selection box around the white space and then do cut...
