I recently posted about my last restart of Ironman Japan v3 and how I reran the first turn 10 times before I got a very good result for teh AI on turn one. I had something like 2 bbs sunk in 5 out of the 10 tries. One had none. Finally on the tenth try I got 6 BBs sunk and played on.

AndyMac recentlly updated Ironman to v5 with a couple of new twist that I told him put it over the top. Below is the results of my first run on v5. It is the most devastating Pearl attack I have ever seen in spite of the fact that I only lost 2 BBs.

if i was playing Japan, i'd rather sink S-boats in Manila on turn 1. USN BB damage at PH is great, the more the merrier, but those S-boats are the only credible threat against the IJN for the 1st 6 months. it'd be nice to mung the Manila AS ships, too!
