I know, and I noticed.
Try and explain it to the friggin wops.
I don't really mind, I just pretend I'm the bad guys in an episode of the A team.:p
Maybe later we could have a rematch with proper armies.

Yup, of course
Where's my turn?

Right here, sorry.
Managed to roast another Stuart, and immobilize a Sherman.

The Brits continue their advance, their line is almost at the Italians starting VHes now. Slowly but surely...
An AT group is destroyed by MG fire, an infantry squad is also dispersed. Another squad is forced back by concentrated fire.
I also destroy 2 sets of crewmen
Surrender now and the Brits will give the Italians better treatment in the POW camps hehehehe
Next game, I still want to play the Brits, I'm starting to like them hehehehe

The Italians are not quite ready to give up just yet...
A P26 in the north kills a Stuart and a Matilda, while that immobilized Sherman gets destroyed by a second molotov hit.
Lost one of my 105s trying to get it into a good firing position:(
210mm avenged their little brother's demise by immobilizing (I think) another Sherman.
Yep, Brits are pretty cool. Ok, you be Brits, I'll be Germans. Something late war, I want to try out some of those wonder weapons they fielded near the end

****! Those P-26s of yours are really tough nuts to crack! A Matilda goes face to face with the tank, and hits it twice but does nothing
A flanking matilda is assaulted by and destroyed by accompanying infantry. A 2nd P-26 reveals itself from the smoke... uhoh odds are starting to look bad up north.
Down south my almost unchallenged advance continues with the destruction of YET ANOTHER armored truck!!!

I find those trucks extremely useful, they absorb an amazing chunk of firepower before going poof. Got some more for you to waste your fire on
Meanwhile an Autoblinda blows up a Stuart in the middle of the map, and in the south one gets flambeed. One of the Protetto trucks blows up a Jeep and soon after a Staghound crew is chased from their vehicle by mortar fire, to be finished of by a Guzzi trike.
The P26s up north tear into a matilda but the thick skinned beast still stands. Wonder how long your tank crews keep their cool if I keep pounding them...
Your turn

The tank battle up north continues to rage.
A P-26 is disabled in the middle of the village while another Armored Truck is blown to bits by reinforcing tanks
I lost a Matilda to some assaulting infantry... AGAIN! GRrrrrr Sometimes I just want to sit back and let you come, that would be easier on my tanks...

Italian forces are still hanging on in the north, fending off the Brittish tanks. Hopefully they'll last long enough for the relief force to arrive on that hill...
The Brittish advance in the south seems to have stalled somewhat, guess those tankers are getting uncomfortable with those petrol bombs and Solothurn bullets coming out of nowhere
May I humbly suggest you reread point 1,2,5 and 6 in your 8-16 post
Meanwhile, I'll be preparing some more surprises...

by Vetkin
Yup, the action down south is darn annoying
Anyways, I reread my post and cool off my head for a while, with my tanks down south taking up 'strategic' positions.
Up North, one last P-26 remains (I hope I hope I hope). It's slammed by 2 pounders, 3 inchers, and 75mm rounds but nothing happens. A Staghound finally manages to damage its suspension. What a behemoth.
A few infantry units of yours are pushed back. They're becoming a bit too ambitious
Your turn

That 'last' (I hope not) P26 is definitely in deep doodoo...
Surrounded by (deep breath) three Matildas, two Staghounds, a Stuart, and a Sherman
On the south flank a Matilda is immobilized by engineers and in the middle my little AC finally gets blown to bits
Elsewhere, Brittish artillery is once again freaking out the troops, I hope my tubes manage to return the favor...

"Matilda 1-0, Matilda 1-0, this is Eagle's Peak over. What is situation over?"
"Eagle's Peak this is Matilda 1-0, banged up but still rockin!"
(a loud and resounding CLANG is heard as the breech is slammed shut and an AP round is loaded.)
"Target tank, 12:00, shoot!" cries the tank commander of Matilda 1-0. (Hoping this is the last time he has to say this phrase.)
Lo and behold and praise be to the Almighty god of war the P-26 explodes after a slight hesitation.! BooM! The forces up north breath a sigh of relief...
But... an enterprising 13mm MG hidden in the ruins of the just-former battlefield fires its weapon at a Tetrarch's very flimsy side armor, blowing it up. The MG squad is severely punished and destroyed by a Sherman.
Down south an MC squad is wiped out by a Matilda (talk bout overkill.)
The rest of the British line moves forward with just a scattering of light arms fire through the whole line. It seems this battle is over Katana. A runner is sent with surrender terms to the Italians' HQ

Surrender? Naah...
You lose a Stuart in the north and, after repeated attmepts, a Matilda in the south for even suggesting such a thing.
More Italian infantry is advancing slowly to retake the VHexes.
This isn't over yet

A squad of line infantry is destroyed this turn. I also push back a few others. I spot an Armored Truck sneakily sneaking past my armored troops in the North, heading to the woods (to grab some VHes?)
In the middle I grab 2 of your home VHes.
The South remains pretty secure. Don't worry about that 90mm truck. It's soon gonna be as good as dead
Heavy artillery smashes all across what remains of the italian lines. Including the forest hexes near your Home VHes, just in case

The Brits move forward, destroying 3 infantry squads in the process and pushing back the rest (including the Italian HQ)
The last VHes are secured.
"The field has been taken Commander!"
"Yes, but at what cost??"
***
The game is a draw
Darn!

I thought I managed at least a marginal victory there

No matter how crushed I think you are, you always manage to pull through a draw
Rematch?

I'll be Brits again if you don't mind.
My password is 'viper'
what's yours? I wanna see the map

Hey, I beat you on points the first time round :p
Bit miffed about the computer calling time early. I think the result would've been different if we had played on. Of course, we probably disagree on what the result would/should've been:D
Password is 'vetkin'. I'll see the map before you do
Rematch: I'll be Germans, early '45 sound good to you?
Your turn to set it up, I think.

Yes, if it lasted longer the battle might've gone to your favor, I see a company and a half or so of your infantry left, but it might've also gone the other direction
Anyways, here's our next battle.
Set in April 1945, with the Brits trouncing the Germans all across the lines in the West, the Germans decide to hold and do battle.
Brits (me) vs. Germans (Katana)
!9100 points!
10% artiller, airdrops, bombers, etc. allowed
For those who just tuned in, this is Katana and my's 3rd battle, with the first two, France(me)vs.Ger(Kat) and Brits(me)vs. Italy(him) resulting in draws.
I am eager to have a decisive victory in this one hehehehe

Ok, I'lll be back in an hour or so with deployment.
BTW I didn't see the mines I laid on the after battle map, did you?
Your Matildas in the south were pretty much surrounded.
There are also some mafia hitmen making their way to your completely unguarded home VH's.

NOpe I Didn't see them in the after-battle map, I saw them while in battle though, who could miss those huge skull and crossbone symbols?
Still awaiting your deployment... Hope you didn't overdo it on the Tigers hehehe
