the more i see this easy russian victories against this divided german divisions the more i insist on my own strategy to only break down a division in 3 RCT's when no other option is possible.

you are doing a great job so far. i play against gids and he is a "kung fu style" close combat russian player too. i simply hate doreward defense and prefer sir robinowsky's as opponents.

Base of the Axis advance is way too narrow down south, he needs to clear a broader path and lanes for the infantry to catch up. He's letting you get away with murder. Poking his nose forward along a 3-4 hex wide corridor for a 100+ miles is just begging for all sorts of trouble.

T6 German

I think you can bust open some of those pockets. The one in the south in particular should be clearable by running a single cavalry division outside the pocket just SE of Kirovograd and one of the units in the pocket due east. That will flip over 3 hexes. Unless there's some units not showing up in your recon to stop this.

He'll repocket most of it, but it will complicate his life some.

Your doing fine, stop stacking your units though. You've inflicted plenty of damage and those southern units will get to live another day (well, some will). Don't defend to the west of leningrad, those units will get cut off. Dig in depth and make him fight for every hex, except down south where you have to defend the Dnepr and then conduct a gradual fighting retreat.

Of course everything all right! On T6 I busted all these pockets and with significant benefit. Now its absolutely clear for me that pocketing is love of German player. Manpower, not industry is a primary target for his Germany in this game. Obviously Germany start wasting time.

Nice one! Not sure if I've ever seen an airdrop on turn 6, which transports did you use?

Non cheesy paradrop, well done. But am surprised you had enough air transport to swing it this early. What did you use?

3 groups of Li-2, 3 groups of TB-3G2 for two paradrops.

EDIT: Sorry, I saw my screen below and realized that these two TB-3G2 I converted only on T6. So, even less were used for the paradrop - 3 groups of Li-2 and 1 TB-3G2.

Did you manually convert some U2 transport groups? I don't recall having so many Li2 groups and TB3G2s by turn 6. The frames are in the pools, but not the regiments.
