Thanks - I've done it once before on my laptop, but first I'm defragging, doing a general cleanup and uninstalling a bunch of unwanted stuff. I uninstalled APOS and will re-install to a different folder. I always install on C:/ and I looked in the Registry, but there were no APOS mentions there...

Well, I started to download the Gamersgate file (for the 3rd time as I don't seem to be able to run the install again from the saved download files) and it said '5 hours and 25 mins'!
So, don't laugh, I bought the game again for £20.00 from Matrix and it downloaded in 25 minutes. I figured I might as well get the Core 577 and 7c updates all in one package.
It's running great although I haven't added the DLC content yet. Also, F12 now generates images in the scrnsht folder, as advertised.
Let me assure you, I really have to love a game to buy it twice!

I'm not laughing...well maybe a snicker. This game was my first purchase from gamersgate. I wasn't aware [maybe foolishly] that you didnt get an install file from gamersgate to keep, and i also have not been able to run the install from the saved files. I've downloaded twice, only took about 12 to 15 minutes both times. I would have rather bought from matrix, but got the game and add-ons for $23 and at the time i wasnt sure i was going to like it given my previous experience with the demo. i also got the first game for $4 at amazon, again no install file to keep. I hope you dont get the error again. You installing the add-ons right away or going to wait? Well hope you stay error free[;)] looking forward to seeing more screenshots.

Thanks. At least I have the Matrix installer on my drive now, so a reinstall will be easy.

Thanks. I did install the add-ons a few days ago and they were working fine. I am thinking about reformatting my C Drive and installing XP in place of Windows 7.
I'm running in Windows 7 (64 byte) and after rebooting once I haven't had any more 001 errors. I think the 001s are related to some kind of
disk access mode that has some kind of fixed lengths in it that don't do well wiht bad sectors.
So just running checkdisk should prevent 001 errors. Anyway that's my current theory.

Never had this before update.
Did update and was working fine but kind of slow on this computer.
So I decide to let auto pick Config.
Now when switch from map to 3D get the crash.
Luckily wrote down all settings before setting auto config.
Now just to figure out which setting broke it.
If I can detect the culprit option will post it.

When I set auto it decreased quality like no soldier equipment, less
detail on everything so gpu should be working less...no?
Will download core temp just to check.
Thanks for tip thou!

I have all my qualities turned up and GPU temps went to 98C within a couple of minutes of starting a QB so I downloaded MSI Afterburner which has a frame rate limiter built in and I set it to 30 and now my temps are around 77 - 83C. In contrast my CPU temps are preety good at around 44c.

After installing the new patch I fired up a quick battle on the upper left quadrant of the Sokolovo DLC map & immediately got a 001 crash. I played around with it some more, sometimes it crashed, sometimes no. Seems to have something to do with moving Russian tanks. On the other hand, I did a huge tank battle on the Volokonova map (Fall Blau) with no problems.
Anyway, I noticed that the both DLCs have been updated since I DL'd them in February. Blau is now version 1.09 & Sokolovo is 1.07. I just DL'd from GG again & re-installed them to see if that helps.

I was having same issue with Russian tanks also.
Reset my options to what I had before trying autoconfig.
Works fine and temps running around 49c.
Must be one of the graphic options causing this.
Have not had time to switch on and off one at a time
to see which option it is.
Since it started working I have just been playing.
Side Note
Never been "Fanboy" of a game, fanboys make me hit my head against the wall.
But this game is so great I may become one..[X(][X(] for this game.

Well the updated DLCs didn't make a difference.
I started Rakitnoe operation as German & am trying to play a battle in the forest west of Rakitnoe. Anyway, it crashed 4 out of 4 times in just the first few minutes. My troops were 1 panzer grenadier, 2 infantry, and 1 Marder platoon, plus 1 allied panzer grenadier platoon from Das Reich. I used similar placement each time. Not sure about the Soviet forces (never got more than 5 minutes of play) but there were some tanks in at least 1 battle. Sometimes it seemed like giving an order to a panzergrenadier squad crashed the game, but it's hard to tell for sure. The fourth time I uninstalled the 2 DLCs before starting, but it made no difference.
Anyway, the problem seems much worse than before the latest patch, & I'm considering a reinstall back to version 577 which worked at least most of the time.
Hope the Matrix & Graviteam guys will take a serious look at this! [&:]

pretty much happening every battle now[:@] Tried various video settings, started a new profile, disabled addons....hell who knows. if it happens their are instructions over at graviteam forum under 001 error thread about zipping up some files and posting them to filehosting site to help them nail this down. Looks like im headed to another reinstall, think i'll just do a second install in another directory in case they fix this and i can continue my op on my other install.

when you reinstall, give it a try without the DLCs for a while. I am running it like that, patched to 580, and so far it's stable...

Red After the fresh reinstall did you change any option settings?
I think if you install update or DLC it reset options to default.
If I run default I get crash, I had changed some that I wrote down
while it was working. If I set those options no crash.
