Red...do you think I may have to delete all game files and start over. I think this latest patch includes all previous patches and updates....

so install core update first,it doesnt say 580,just says core update on graviteam site?

Cool been playing all day, had some real serious and intense battles, I have to say this game has given me the best wargame experience on PC yet.
The two operations I played to day each time I'm getting a touch hammered!
AI has improved since APK42 I must say.
Downloading patch now.

I can't see your system, so hard to say. You don't actually need to delete, although i did - because I don't know what I'm doing! But it works fine anyway.
Why don't you post a screenie of your Explorer folder to show where the game is installed and another screenie to show the install path you have set in the 580 update exe window

Good to hear that you're enjoying it. The AI is getting better with each release. I got massacred by it yesterday, but it's all good because the AI played like a real life commander.

Er - are you trying to install the Gamersgate patch over the Matrix version of the game? Does that work?

No Matrix,I saved 580 to desktop,when I try to install it doesnt show on desktop so cant install[&:]

I do step #1 and install to the default main game folder. (Program files\Graviteam\Actung PanzerOperation Star) I even get a message that says Update 580 successfully installed although I don't see the usual windows green line filling to the right as it installs files.
When I run the game it still says Version 5.77. That is probably where I am having problems. The update 580 is not installing correctly or at all....but why?

So, to be clear.
You are:
1. Running the matrix version of the game, right?
2. Trying to patch it with a patch you downloaded from where - Gamersgate? (I don't think the matrix version of the patch is out yet.)
That's probably not going to work...

Thought I read somewhere do not install into program files.
May work a few time but eventually you will get bit.
(Am not 100% on this but just feel need to mention)
