I was reading this and some other threads and I have a question.
Does termite always just drop in to say something repugnant and obnoxious?
Is he nine years old? Or just the kind of person who likes to write obscenities on other peoples things?
He even takes the time to say really nasty things to spambots.
Things must be pretty rotten in Denmark.

He's been here a lot longer, so maybe he doesn't have as much patience, but yeah, he's pretty much correct. I might choose different words, but ...

Well it is too bad that this thread got hi-jacked for whatever the reasons. I really liked the photos. The P39 for all its faults was certainly one of the most beautiful fighters designed in WWII. I have always had a soft spot for it due to the way it looks.

The P63 seemed to be a very good plane but I doubt the USAF had any need for a fighter with such short range at the date that the P63 appeared. For the Russians it was a much more suitable fit as their fighters were not escorting large bombers deep into enemy territory. They seemed to be very happy with it as they were with the P39.

It boggles the mind. Is it really that difficult to either have a rational and civil discussion or to simply take the high road and not respond if you can't do so?

I thought we had a new moderator, they at least deserve a "yellow card" for trolling a harmless comment.

I did notice that the game has the same specs for the P-63. But then our expert wouldn’t be expected to know that, not having the game.

DivePac says that Zeroes regularly eat the P-63's lunch in WitP. Is that true? If so, wouldn't the specs seem to counterindicate that result?

Its also a shame that a certain someone have to voice his dislike of a certain someone else in the manner he does derailing the thread. Rules are rules and if postcount is more important then the forum rules then something is wrong.

I liked flying any of the P-39 variants in IL2. One of my favorites. In game I seem to have pretty good luck using them for base defense, a lot depends on the crew quality.

Does anyone know if the P63 corrected the nasty tendency for the earlier models to go into a flat spin. My understanding that this was a serious problem and it was only the most experience pilots who could pull the plane out.

Oh, fo sho, cool pics. It sure was a pretty airplane. The game likes it too. Some might consider it a P-39 variant, but Sy’mon says, in the game it’s waaay mo betta mon. Too bad its only the Sovs that get it (in 1945).

It is a fair question. My answer is that I don't see the game engine as different enough from Gary Grigsby's Pacific War (including all the old errors, based on the many AARs available) to warrant the effort. Considering how long it takes to PLAY WitP at 1 day per turn, I can't see myself buying it at this time. I can see myself purchasing it at some future date in order to edit the data files and see what can be done with it.

You're like a catholic preacher who has the determination to tell everyone how a good marriage works. It is interesting in the beginning, maybe even with some partial truth. Then it gets funny, then boring. Finally, it ist just annoying.

Responding to discussions in which historical claims were asserted by either agreeing or disagreeing with the assertions on the basis of the real world evidence.

Why are you participating in discussions about a game you never played?

First, much of the discussion involves claims made about the war as it was in the real world. Fair game for anyone to discuss that IMV. Second, I have played WitP. Third I played UV and GGPW extensively. And I can read the AARs. So I am in a very informed position to judge both whether the line of products derived from GGPW is consistent with "ballpark correct results" as compared with WW2.

Finally: As I have noted before. One does not need to own a calico cat in order to be able to talk knowledgeably about the general characteristics of a given calico cat because, in the end, it's still a cat. Or if you can't understand that analogy, imagine someone like you claiming that a person cannot possibly know anything at all about a 2012 Cheverolet Malibu because they have only owned a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, read all of the CR reviews for each model year, and driven a 2012 Malibu.

In short, your objection is both meritless and illogical.
