Would love to see the Summer, 1941 battles around Smolensk done with Decisive Campaigns. Just finished Stahel's Operation Barbarossa. Can't imagine a better venue for the game engine. Or Kursk even!
A grand campaign 1939 - 1945 (+) -- omg -- that would be so great. Maybe some day.. [X(][X(][X(]

Have you all noticed?
In the images of the units you see forground higher grass.
Your recognizes the ground on which the units are available.
Grass, soil and sky in the background change with the seasons, weather conditions and location (forest - trees, city - walls).
Yes I know, this might not be so important to a strategy/war game.
My self often prefer in fact, a sober and sterile representation to present information and data like the way War in WitE.
But I must admit, this feature (grass, soil, trees, walls, sky changing) ... - Oh boy! I loooovvvvvvveeee such gimmicks!
Great!

As I see, the game becomes very popular, and in contrast to Decesive Campaigns: Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris, very respected in a short amount of time. [:)]
Therefore I do not enjoy the game

Hi All,
We have a new update in the works, that includes a number of fixes and improvements. You can find it in the
Members Club. Please try it out and let us know how it works for you.
v1.50b – July 16, 2012
Fixes and Improvements
12. A lot of small bugs fixed
I had to choose between Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris and the expansion to Gary Grigsby's War in the East.
For me, Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue has made so much fun I decided for Decisive Campaigns: Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris. And now I must read this.
I'm very disappointed.
All those years many small bugs stand in the game?
No one has cared about these bugs since the release date?
It remains to be seen how long we have to live with "a lot of" small bugs in Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue.

WtP is one of my most played games in the last years (mostly pbem) and i don't remember one bug that bothered me. pbem is fantastic and Case Yellow and Case White were a 100% playable. never cared about the Sea Lion scenario. but i see no reason for pre-disappointment. You have already witnessed here how responsive Vic and Matrix are. Geniess das Spiel und sei versichert, dass der Support gut sein wird.

The message was simply shocking.
After all these years, only now eliminated "a lot of" bugs.
But yes, I enjoy the Decisive Campaigns series.
And now after introduced to the series, I am more and more to believe that Gary Grigsby's War in the East, which I like very much, is overrated! [8D]
I have a feeling that Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue, today, shortly after the release, is much more successful than its predecessor?
What could this be the reason for it?

Well, Templer, this is a new game, with new features, so it doesn't shock me that there are bugs. Personally, I haven't encountered any bugs at all, but I'm still new.
As for its popularity: in my case, this particular campaign interests me more than the early-war campaign depicted in the first game. I might go back and pick it up eventually; we'll see. Also, I'll confess that the map graphics did not wow me, and still don't wow me. I prefer the look of the WiTE maps, which in turn look like the maps from The Gamers' magnificent OCS game "Case Blue." But after reading the rave reviews here of this second installment, I took the plunge, and I'm glad I did. Superb game. Just terrific.

@ Groitus,
here the same.
And also I have go thru the comic style graphics.
But we have same fine mods for this now. Making life easier with the graphics.
I'm not talking about Case Blue!
I speak of the first game of the series, Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris!
And that's commercially available for several years now.
So it's a very late patch for "a lot of" bugs.

Ah, now I understand.
And I just found all the threads on map-modding over in the "Mods" forum. Sounds like prettier maps are on the way...

You're late to discover the mods for the game. [;)]
You'll find a lot of great work upgrading Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue.

The more I get in Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue , the more I dive into the game, the better it gets. [:)]
Still (I should finally read the manual), I discover features that are intelligent and well thought out. [X(]
Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue and Decisive Campaigns: Blitzkrieg From Warsaw To Paris, both, are excellent products that do not need to fear comparison with other competitors.
Seriously, I can recommend:
• Buy
• Get thru the irritating cartoon graphics and learn to live with them
• Accept that some is abstracted
and then report here again.

I'm a hopeless fanboy, too. It's a very absorbing game. I actually like the drawings, especially the way the background changes to indicate both terrain and weather. And the AI continues to impress me. It's putting up a very good and fun fight.

Very much enjoying it as well. Also I like that WtP and Case Blue play very differently, so it's not like I'd never play the first one again.
I have to say that I am enjoying Case Blue more than I enjoyed WtP, though. I think it's because both sides are rather equal and you will have to decide whether to act offensively/defensively instead of (like as the Germans in Wtp) CONSTANTLY being on the offensive.

Hopeless fanboy here too. Nothing's quite as absorbing as chewing through the Germans in May 1942 (that is if you take the May 12 start and do a free set up against the AI on easy). Still, the easy AI puts up a coherent fight, so that's something, though the AI might want to consider not basing lots of planes in shore bombardment range around the Sea of Azov.

Although I am already busy for weeks with the game I still discover, often with the help of forum members, new details in the game.
This is certainly the fact that the included manual is so incomplete.
So, for his manual I do not love the game. [:D]
There's unsuspected depths under the hood.
I hope Vic will still remains commitment above average to the game in the near future and of this consequence the game become a real all time highlight.

I will keep supporting my games. I always fix bugs, glitches and big historical mistakes (last is of course open to interpreation). I am also keeping manual errata lists as we speak and i read the forums. For bigger (really time consuming) improvements and new features I am however keeping a list for stuff to do in a possible DC3, and will then eventually backport to DC2 if and when a DC3 game is released..
kind regards,
Vic

I guess this would be the thread to introduce myself. I've been playing Panzer Corps for the last year and thoroughly enjoying it but felt like getting back to the boardgames of my youth and have been thinking about what game to start off in. Will still be playing Panzer Corps as it is a fabulous game, but I wanted to have a go at a campaign style game.
I started off by having a look at Strategic War in Europe, it was very cheap so worth a punt. Have to say it wasnt really for me although I'm sure it is good at what it actually offers. So after much reading of these forums since it first came out I finally made the decision this week to purchase Case Blue as my introduction to strategy games.
Right decision!
I'm having a ball. So far I'm on my third playthrough of the linked scenario campaign which is an excellent introduction. The first attempt was best, managed the firs scenario easily enough, got a bit cocky in the second one and ended up with two stranded and surrounded panzer divisions! I decided to desert to the Russians at that point before my career ended with a visit to Fuhrer Headquarters.
I've also played the 2nd Kharkov scenario as the Germans..despite my grand plans it was again abandoned as I had made far too many mistakes and was on for a minor Soviet victory at best, too many grand plans and not enough looking at trying to get a breakthrough, note to self, dont use PZ divs as battering rams, the losses were horrific!
I keep looking at the grand campaigns but am not quite ready for them yet, still getting used to trying to reorganise HQs, playing the cards at the right time and not running ahead of my supplies.
Have to admit I am getting impatient as the campaigns look brilliant, but the scenarios are worthwhile games in themselves and really help with learning the mechanics of combat. I keep going back and re-reading the manual as various bits make more sense and these forums have been really helpful, especially the playthroughs in the AAR section. Overall I'm having a blast, hope to have a go at a PBEM game soon as well which I've never done before, I'm sure I'll get trashed but the beauty of the game is you can have fun whilst losing. I think my evenings are about to disappear down a Case Blue shaped hole[:'(]

Purchased the game last week. Been digging into the small scenarios, playing them over and over, from different sides. Reading the manual and these boards as much as I can including the AARs. Having a blast. Pretty soon going to try the full campaign. Then I will try PBEM. Thanks to the developer for such a creative work of art. [&o]
