- Music Volume Control (I like the music. Don't want to miss it, but the music is, in comparison to the sound effects, too loud).
Yeah, I thought this too. The music is louder than music outside of the game, so I'm always turning the volume way down and then it's too low for everything else. I thought it was me...
No, no way.[:-]
Like you I also love good (dramatic) ingame music.
The music of Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue is good (and dramatic).
I do not understand how anyone can forget the volume control?

A few things I'd love in an ideal DC Case Blue world
*a button or hotkey to "bring to surface" all Air Units and one to "surface" all HQs. Locating air units buried under other units is a needless chore.
*a hotkey option for "Show HQ Power" -- I don't want to play with this 'always on,' but it would be useful as something you can toggle on an off with a keystroke
*I keep harping on this but, once again: READABLE COMBAT RESULTS - tiny dark red numbers on dark gray background is ridiculous.

Some of the things i would like changed, i already changed in my mod, Vic if you want to use any of them go ahead.
my mod
- Lighter hexsides
- Higher color saturated rivers
- Easier to see roads
- Spaced frontline markers
- More transparent shroud
- reduced loud drummer noise
http://www.mediafire.com/?e0n1t9hedgtchtw
What else i would like to do but cant yet figure out
- Faster scrolling speed
- Increase the unit highlights when you select a headquarters (its too hard to see them currently)
- Reduce the color shading when you select headquarters (the supply / combat bonus radius) (i think its too hard to see whats underneath and could be much lighter)
- Option in menu for more transparent hex-sides
- Engineers really should have some type of bonus vs reducing fortifications.-
- Ammo buildup for units similar to artillery (but not nearly as restrictive) (I feel this might add more strategy to planning big attacks and force more breaks in combat)
- Artillery seems to take a little too long to replenish should it really take a week or more to build up ammo stock?
- Hotkeys for commands (not sure if they are already there i dont know what they are)
- Along with hotkeys a menu for assigning keys to commands and adjusting scrolling speed
- Variable entrenchment rates (not always 40 ect)
- balance some of the card costs, some seem way to expensive. Especially defense cards. Considering planing cards on defense is much more risky than offense because the enemy might not attack. For example 5 points to slightly boost the entrenchment of a division.. could probably be lower like 3.
_ Speed card is kinda overpowered when you can play it the same turn. Perhaps even unrealistic, you should need to plan the buildup ahead of time. i would like to have the speed card need to be played prior to the turn the unit gets the speed boost. Or i can do silly things like reassign a units HQ after its out of action points just to play another speed card on it.
And some other things other people mentioned too.

wodin your so silly, I would never call myself a 'bronie' that would be a little bit obsessive don't you think? If I had to approach your question from a psycho-analysis point of view; It may be a counter cultural response to a phyche of fear-mongering, violence enriched media and culture. Regarding the nature of the people enjoying the show, I can't tell if they are more or less deranged than the average bystander. If you want to keep your daughter safe i suppose i would advise blocking my little pony black people nazis jews, priests and atheists from your browser.

Good point. The command points of an officer decrease when you re-assign, but this is defenitely a loophole. I am going to make some adjustments here for the 1st patch.
best,

So at maximum zoom they change to Silhouettes? This is different from the earlier game WtP!!
No, they don't change. He is saying that you need to toggle the change manually to see those CV values...

you dont have to toggle manually on the lowest zoom but for the middle or high zoom you do, top shot is middle zoom no CV, bottom shot low zoom i did not toggle anything. So it shows up automatically when you zoom down.

How about an option screen for the counters,so you can pick what is displayed on the counters. Combat command has something like this.

That might not be a bad solution.
Please see post number 15 again.
The representation of the left image with the silhouette + CV is not available for the small counter with the NATO symbols + CV.
The right image shows an image from the AI calculations.
So the NATO symbols for the representation of "small-counter next to each other" are already integrated in the game.
Why can't I use this representation (small-counter next to each other + NATO symbols + CV) on my planning map?
The silhouettes look for a war game / strategy game inappropriate and unprofessional! Period!

Can you zoom the map using the wheel on your mouse, or do you still have to use the +/- keys?

That's a good thing! I'm still not sure of a Regiment level Case Blue? That has to be a lot of units to move around.

There is a button for group movement of units (hotkey g).
That makes things a little more bearable.

The game seems pretty similar to WtP in it's mecahnics. Which is a good thing. I just tire quickly of moving and keeping track of loads of units. But that's just me ....Lots of people love to micro manage.

I don't think Speed is overpowered, it's not like you get another full move. It generally allows you to move 1 or 2 extra hexes. As the duration of attacks depend on AP's, it's not a powerful offensive tool either because if you can attack again using it, it will be a short fight.
I'd even go as far as saying that you need it to get clean breakthroughs with an encirclement (threat) that the enemy can't just counter by walking out of it or with some minor reorganization. Also keep in mind that AP's will generally drop over time due to getting further away from the supply source, so Speed might not get you even 100 AP's. The time scale already reduces the consequences of the lack of mobility of the Soviets substantially.
There's a significant command point hit when changing HQ's, so a reassigning loop is a serious waste of command points for a very marginal benefit.
Maybe a slight increase in cost could work, but at the moment I'd be against nerfing it.
-
As a suggestion: a revision of the auto entrenchment rule so that you only get part of the benefit it currently gives after moving into a hex. Considering the infrequent availability of artillery, casualties from dislodging units from a difficult terrain hex they entered in their phase of the turn can be a serious pain.
