holy crap that first screen shot brought back memories! have to admit, i never could get used to the 3D sprites...think i used the nato symbol icons...never made it to the pacific module, but may have to fix that now that i've seen this...
it's been a while, but 10 turns doesn't seem like enough time to execute that wide left hook, especially if he's dug in to any extent...but, we shall see...

...go get em!
Youre correct on the 10 turns.
I have since moved the tanks on the inf route and the inf through the forest basically. I think I screwed up from the get go going so far west on turn one. Probably going to do a mad rush with tanks... we shall see.

Hey all, for those interested in Korean War, I made a game from the Rising Sun module, it is available here-
http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=62587
Also made a sci-fi from West Front dealing with an alien invasion during WW2, everyone against the K'talan, a humanoid species with ground tech of 21st century.
I'm always updating graphics as well, I love this series!!

Korean War would be fun. Not a big sci-fi guy. I like historical games.

Sorry for the OT Jeffk. What type of Scen's does this game have? I have been looking for a new AI or something small to get into with PBEM. This games looks pretty good. I have been wanting a good cold war game. Good luck will follow to see how the game looks a feels.

Thanks for the post. I will try to answer..though I am not sure what you mean. This game has many scenarios. It is a combination of a three games, plus their add ons. East Front, West Front, and Rising Sun. I am sure you could guess which nations are involved in which game...
It has scenarios with all types of units involved. Scenarios range for five turn tutorials with mainly battalion sized engagements to corps sized engagements that have hundreds of units and last fifty turns or so.
I personally think this is one of the better games on the market for the tactical level of play involved. Its incredible. Especially really getting into it and using armor facing effects for firing, opportunity fire (firing while the other side is moving if you have enough points to fire), line of sight, assaults, artillery fire, and soft/hard range factors.
It is very straight forward, easy to pick up, and you won't play each scenario the same way. You can play both sides in all scenarios I think, but not campaigns..one is historical, the other isn't. UGOWEGO system. Point and click. Nothing else is used. Some scenario info on the menu bar during the game, and numerous map display options, and a mini jump map.
Very, very fun game that requires very little reading to pick up on.
I have spent numerous hours playing this game, and rediscovered it when I found out about Matrix a handful of years ago. WF and EF stopped worked on my computer as I would upgrade computers...
For everyone here that doesn't have this, it is the best $30 you will spend if you want instant fun and good return for your money.
Also, from what I understand and have read, there is a big mod community for this game. I have seen scenarios all the way up to modern battles.

Thank you for the comment.
Looking forward to doing a lot of these with schani. We're both really into this game, and have become very good friends meeting on the WiTPAE forum.

Turn in inbox. Will process today and update everyone.
Marc doesn't have internet at home. Only at his office. So, there is usually a day's delay...unless I do a turn at the office, which I am going to start doing. Our fall is pretty much booked, now all we need to do is sit back and haul everything and make sure we get paid and pay everyone. A lot of thumb twiddling. Our youngest son was dedicated to the church this weekend, so daddy had zero time for himself. Should crank them out this week.
Marc mentioned in the email that he saw some of my boys in the trees. By boys, I am guessing he means tanks, as my infantry is still loaded up...I think...

.
I am basically going to make a mad dash for the victory locations with time slipping away. Visibility is good. I am going to use "Save APs for Firing" when moving my tanks. I really love using opp fire to catch units while they move. Especially his tanks... I have no idea how many he has, but I want to be able to fire first... especially if he has Tigers...
Tanks will go in, followed by the inf.. which are slower.

Thanks Warhorse.
How come there isn't a lot of activity here? I am guessing the game isn't as popular as WiTE and AE..

Yeah Mike is right, not too much action going on here but there sure are players still playing this classic.
Love to see a new AAR though! [&o]
Thanks Josh. I plan on doing a lot of them like I mentioned.

Hey, not sure why it dried up here, for one it didn't seem to host much in the playing of it like the Blitz does. For awhile only negative comments scared up action, which turned off a lot of folks as well. I visit here every day, always have the internet/comp on, so you will see my name on! I fully support this series, and still do a lot of modding/correcting as I can. Most times I can answer tech problems, although I have no understanding of the C++ language, unfortunately. I have however done extensive digging into every file in the game, and understand most, so..fire away if you need help, maybe I can!!
Just getting into PBEM, this truly is where the game shines, you meet folks from everywhere, and are competing against an actual person, which makes every scenario a different experience every time you play it against someone!

That is too bad. Matrix seems to be a great place, and there isn't any reason this could be a great place too.
I wish I could figure out how to really size these screens down. It takes massive screenshots. Maybe I can get them in my posts a different way that uploading. Host them some where, and then link it in the post or something.
Any who... Do you spend a lot of time with CS? I really enjoy the series.

It si a very good place, I've been with Matrix since about 1998 or so starting out converting Steel Lightning(a version of Steel Panthers 3), into SP:WAW, which was awesome as well!!
I use Photobucket to host screenies, it's free, and you can have multiple albums!
Of all the games I have, I spend all of my time anymore in some capacity or other in the CS!! I love this series, it's very easy to modify and plays well!!

Marc just sent me the turn.
I have yet to see the replay, but I knew we would have combat. I left all of my front line tanks with enough APs to have a shot a piece during his phase.
He mentioned in his email that one T-34/41 destroyed to the loss of two 50mm AT guns. That SHOULD mean that AT unit only has one gun left. They usually have three. Should be elimnated during my turn.
