I apologize for the delay in answering - I'm on vacation until the 3rd of November and still can not continue the experiments for this PC.

That's an old version (more than one year). You should update (it's free) to Antivirus 5. That's the version I use in my desktops.

Hi, I have the same problem!
Everything (drivers and so on) are up to date. The game crashes after a short black screen and goes back to the desktop. It must be an VC++ problem I guess. But VC++ is working and I have a savegame without any file in it.
Could it be that my Norton Internet Security (newest version) is still blocking something, even if disabled? In the Norton Virus list there is allwaya this one blocked, even if disabled!
C:\Programme\Java\JRE7\BIN\JQS.EXE

Have you tried running the game under administrator rights?

Yes, I have all administrator rights.
I noticed that CEAW (have this one too) is opening an seperated window at the start of the game which is something like C:\Programme\Java\JRE7\BIN\JQS.EXE
CTGW doesnt do this. Could this be the problem?

Hi all,
I played this game during holiday on the laptop.
Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that from my point of view, it is, in some places, not too historical (which is strange for a game based on history), and in some places - on the contrary (which is odd for a game that allows to change history). Also, not too much attention paid to diplomacy
So I decided to go back to the Panzer Corps. Fortunately, this game starts without problems whenever I tried
Thanks for trying to help!

I really advise to check at you graphic manufacturer websites to double check you have the latest drivers installed and not rely on Windows checking it, we see in 90% in the cases especially with ATI and Intel graphical drivers they are the cause of this kind of errors:
So double check, I know it is a pain, but I had the same with two of our test machines during Beta:
To avoid conflicts, please first make sure you update and use your latest Graphic Video Card drivers!!!
Check for latest Intel Drivers:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com
Check for latest ATI (AMD) drivers:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
Check for latest NVIDIA drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
If you by any accident use Windows/Documents in Greek or Russian Cyrillic, see here for a hotfix (we include it in the upcoming final patch, but at least it will allow Russian/Greek users to play the game)

Hi,
Next problem - the intro starts in full screen regardless of the setting. After the intro, or if during the intro to press ESC, is CTD.
I have the latest Intel drivers. VC++ tried to reinstall. I have also tried to reinstall the game.
No file ctgw.log in "My Documents\My Games\Commander The Great War".
There error.txt in the game directory - it is written "KERNEL MEMORY CHECKING IS ** OFF **"
Directx Dialog and glewinfo - in attachment.
Yeah, just bought this and am having the same problem. Did all the sugestions and still can't get it to work. Since I also bought the game on disk thought I would try again when it arrives and see if it will run then. I hope so or I guess I'll be out of luck. Really disappointed, as I have never had any trouble with Matrix games in the past. Anyway hope there is a fix for this eventually.

Hi CaptainRockwellTorry,
If you could post a dxdiag / glewinfo report we can probably help you get the game up and running. Chances are it's either a VC++ problem or a driver one.
What have you tried already?
