Warspite, I think you're too quick to give up entrenched positions in the West. For example, in post no 16, I can understand abandoning the hexes nearest Verdun, but why fall back from the three hexes close to the Swiss border?
He he he[:D].
Warspite is reduced to living on his nerves, wearing a dishevelled WWI British Army uniform, swigging from a half empty whiskey bottle, waving his revolver in the air and shouting ' Hold them at all costs boys!!'

Listen Myrddraal I've told my French commanders that, but will they listen?

I thought, having beaten the AI easily at the first time of asking, I was quite good at this game - that was before I lost about 5 in a row (1x CP and 4 x Entente)...and counting [&:]
Now Empire has me on the rack too. I can understand now why my wife says this to me all the time:

As a strange coincidence, we have that poster framed in our bathroom.
How ironic warspite; everytime I sit on the loo, I'll think of you.

In the South, huge swirling battles ensue between the combatatants, and warspite nearly takes down another Korps ( Garrison unit ).
Both Armies are like two punch drunk boxers, unsure where the next blow will fall.
Very exciting game, and my opponent serves up a surprise every turn, unnerving Central Powers High Command.[X(]

Warspites Russian Fleet ambushes the German Heavy Cruisers near Turko,[:@] but thankfully fail to break through to my convoy.[:)]
Warspite is an aggressive Naval Power player, and is not afraid to use his ships in the great tradition of the Royal Navy, 'If in doubt, engage the Enemy wherever you find them'.
This has made me far more wary of naval adventures.[X(]
In the East, Lemberg holds out against determined Russian assaults, but warspites excellent preparation means the battle is far from over.
I await events.

The German High Seas Fleet deals a crippling blow to the Russian Baltic Fleet.
Lemberg is stabilised yet again. Warspite continues to apply heavy pressure to this sector of the front.
The Turks advance on Suez!![X(]

I forgot to mention that Warspite landed in Calais ( that I foolishly left undefended ) around turn 10 with a British Inf unit and scared the bejesus out of me!!
The German High Command had to immediately remove themselves to the corner shop and buy a ( very ) small bottle of Jagermeister, and take a few snorters to quell the rising panic!!
Luckily I had enough spare troops at hand to almost destroy the British unit ( reduced to a yellow 1 Strength ), before they re-embarked and disappeared over the horizon.
The down side of all of this is that this diversion stopped the advance on Paris. Clever Warspite....curse him!!!![:D][:D][:@][:@]
Now I join Moltke in the Great Hall of the Prevaricators.[:(]
But I can't find the screenshots, so you'll all have to take my word for it!

Yes, I had nothing better to do, so I thought I would get the British Army to practice what it would be like evacuating troops from a French port while surrounded by the dastardly boche...you never know that kind of knowledge may come in handy in... oh, i don't know, circa 25 years time [;)]

Winter is here[:(]. The Eastern Front Stabilizes..Phew.
The Austro-Hungarians wreak revenge on the Serbs.
Nis is cut off and the defenders are doomed. AH has a brand new Artillery piece!!
The West settles down for tea and medals.
I found this screenshot, and it does show the valiant BEF in Calais after it got blasted, but just before evacuation.[:@]
The Ottamans start digging in along the Suez.

20PP of convoy lost, 35EP worth of the only Entente submarine on the map.
You can afford that trade.
Congrats to the High Seas Fleet on defeating the Russian menace, that's the real threat to the ore convoy.

I was'nt thinking in terms of PP's. When you put it like that, I felt much better!![:D]

Its certainly very interesting reading along.
Its very clear that a human player is different to the AI. I'm looking forward to starting my own PBEM game soon

I suspect I'm a great opponent because I appear, once again, to be getting my bottom whipped.....[;)]
In all seriousness though, and apologies if I've mentioned this before, but this is a terrific game!
Thanks to CTGW, this is the first time I have gone down the PBEM route - I must say its a great, easy to use, system Slitherine have going here. Playing some quality opponents too - Empire, the Ormster and colberki to name but three. Thoroughly good fun!

+1
And that attack that wiped out my Korps in the south of France made me shudder!!!
Artillery was still the God of War in WWI.
As to a great game....I just can't stop playing it.
I'll soon be checking in to the 'Gary Grigsby Rest and Recuperation Clinic for Inveterate Wargamers.'
The game looks so deceptively easy, that at first glance I thought I'd play it for a bit and then move on to something else. But each game gets more and more exciting!!!!
No matter how this game turns out Warspite, I hope you'll be up for a rematch!!
