While I'm generally one who likes more options, I see a critical problem in the game with your request. If there were no resource limits, there would be no strategic value in game for the different planets. So no one would covet your colonies and resources and the whole inter-relationship engine would need to be re-written to give AI powers a different reason to go to war.

If you dislike resource shortages you can always use the editor to give yourself whatever you need in your game right now. But changing such a fundamental aspect of the game as strategic resources is probably not something they would consider doing I bet.

I am in dis-agreement with your statement. If you've read my posts there is one that clearly states that I have indeed tried the editor to no avail[2nd post in this thread].The shortages themselves as they stand[in my opinion] represent an "artificial" lack.How can there be this lack if I'm already in control of most of the galaxy[several games I've already played] where there was a lack of chromium and carbon fibres[towards endgame] that blocks[and slows] my construction projects? My idea would be an option [only if it's checked] for those certain people [like myself] who would enjoy the game without this blockage.Others [who enjoy this lack of materials] do not have to check that option and can play the game as they also please. Re-write?Only the developer can really say if that's needed or not.
As far as my neighbors coveting my resources that would still go on because there would still be the haves..and the have nots, because of the conquest part of the game.Keep the Loros fruit and that rare spice[didnt want to try to misspell that] as the things they can covet and keep a limit on those if needed. I've already put this into request form in the wish list and the developer can determine if it's worthy and how much trouble it would be to do this.
I'm not advocating a radical change here..I do like and enjoy the game very much. Thank you![:)]
