It's obviously something to do with the sun. The Mayans calculated the sun had this long to exist before burning out.
And the University of Alabama will be the defending college football champions for eternity.

Well it must be affecting my family, I buried my father last week (his passing was not unexpected) and now it looks like an uncle may not last this week. I really hate this month, and xmas will be an unhappy one!
