Okay. We'll do a Soviet force that is advancing against a NATO force that is also advancing.

Just for some additional knowledge;

Soviets organized their offensive forces into three different groups.

Fixing Force
Assault Force
Exploit Force (decisive)

Carry on

Finally the map is completed.

It is centered on the village of Atteln. Which is roughly 13km south of Paderborn. The area where the 3rd Armored Division's commander was killed in WWII. This is the German armored training grounds.

The weather has been bad for the past 27 hours. We have no reliable information about which NATO unit is operating in this area or their exact location. Since the opening of the offensive NATO has had to rush units around to plug the holes that have been punched into them.

The most likely unit is a German armored unit. That will not be confirmed until we make contact.

Good Hunting.

The after vacation work load was more than I expected. Having mostly caught up with that now, time for the Interactive DAR to start moving forward again.

I should have the scenario created and the initial parts setup by the end of this weekend so we can start playing.

Look forward to seeing how we do. [8D]

Of all the Categories of Soviet Combat Actions the one the Soviets expect to be the one most prevalent is Meeting Engagement (enemy is also on the offensive).

Working at getting the briefing written, we have added the map to the editor where I can use it now, looking at how large I want to make this battle, will try to have this scenario put together and give you all your first look at the scenario and give you the opportunity to give your first orders this week.

That at least is the plan. I have had a change in job position. Today was my last day in the old position and I should now have much more free time in the evenings. That will benefit the DAR immediately.

The pick the scenario game play options we like. These are optional to each side independently which makes it easy to have players of differing abilities to play each other with the ability to handicap one gamer.

You would next see the National Briefing.

This has been reproduced in it's entirety in the DAR thread.

You will then be given a prompt that tells you to place your units and give them orders to start the game.

At that time the game map is fully functional and you can place your units in any of the shaded hexes on the map.

Red shaded for Warsaw Pact.
Blue shaded for NATO.

You can drag and drop your units in any of the shaded hexes. You will only be allowed to see your own sides setup hexes. You can never know where the enemy may set up.

I said last week that the DAR thread was hopefully only going to be a part of this.

Today it is. This thread is the written part of the DAR.

We have posted video clips of the turns for you as well.

They can be found here:
