I agree..great game..a classic like CK2. Never bothered with the previous EU games..but this is a work of genius. However I haven't a clue how to play it.

EU IV is incredible.

I enjoy EU IV. It's not the big step CK II made, but still unmatched for medieval grand strategy and way better than Civ 5.

Yes guys, I get it: It is incredible.

Why is it incredible? What are the major updates over EU3 with all expansions that make EU4 a better game?

Sapper your best going to check the EUIV forum and ask there...from what I'm reading all EU3 vets are leaving it behind for EU4. Haven't seen anyone yet say they aren't.

What's so incredible about it? Really, if you're going to claim it's incredible on this forum, why not explain *why* and *how* on this forum?

No one needs to explain anything here if they don't want to. Aurelian do you have EUIV? As over at the Paradox forum I haven't seen one person who owns both says they will stick with EU3.

There is so much to the game it makes it difficult o go into detail esp if you don't fully know how to play it yet. However it doesn't take a genius to realise it's something special and has oodles of gameplay.

Again go to he Paradox forum. There is pages of posts on it and will give you a far better insight than one person explaining it here.

Aurelian. I do not have EU 3, but in the Paradox site is an adobe file that is called "the differences between EU 3 and EU 4. That should be exactly what you are looking for.

I do have all of the Hearts of Iron (which are AWESOME) and the March of Eagles (which is pretty good). These are similar in some ways, so that is the closest I can get to similar games for EU 4. As Wodin stated, too much to list but it is a work of genius.

Lastly as you know, the paradox members are like this forum in that they have incredible feedback, and the developers (Johann) does listen. Because it is the same team, I am sure the EU 3 will stop being updates and supported because EU 4 is kicking its butt real bad.

My full review will be out in 2 - 3 days and I will post the positives and negatives. I do have a few negatives which you might want to read about.

I love the game but I have the same problem with EU IV that I have with HOI3 and CK2.......the bloody FONT is way TOO SMALL!!!! Paradox needs to address this issue as I am not the only person that finds the font way too small to see. Yea their are Mods but they don't do swat for me!!! Anyhow great game, great fun as long as I have a magnifying glass next to my computer monitor........

Font is definitely too small. Same with CK2. I have to move my monitor in FRONT of my laptop with my external keyboard right against my chest....BUT it is the best EU game I've played.....really enjoying it.

Oh, and I LOVE steam....I have so many games I can just install/reinstall through Steam, it's the best.

If you want people to pay attention to what you claim, or give it any consideration, yes you do. Since you can't take the time to explain why you think it's a great game, then I can dismiss it.

Yep - fonts too small.

Although I have a 23" 1920x1080 monitor I have found that my 20" 1600x900 HP 2011x is actually better for these games with super small font. I sometimes play Hearts of Iron at 1024x768 - its kinda fuzzy, but bigger.

And yes, laptop to one side, face and keyboard up at the monitor. Funny little grease marks where my nose touches it !

Have you tried the demo? What would be so hard about doing that instead of bah-humbugging everyone in this thread for liking something? I can't think of a single thing that EU3 does that is superior to EU4, it's that simple.
