2nd strike risks shredding the elite air on the KB

He probably won't bother

In one of my current PBEM games the Japanese player did and my battleships were not as damaged as yours. I sortied out a surface force and launched airstrikes with surviving aircraft. I lost 2 Battleships in airattacks froma 4 carrier KB but in night actions I sank 2 carriers and harrased the other two.

Finally managed to finish turn 2... I hate turn 2...

Intel for turn 2 shows two interesting pieces of information.

2/I./4th Infantry Battalion is loaded on a Japanese xAK moving to Manado.
2/56th Engineer Regiment is loaded on a To'su Cargo class xAKL moving to Mersing.

Without Japanese carrier support it will be hard to protect these landings. This might be a chance to disrupt some of the early landings...

For the rest turn 2 is not shocking. The 4 Clemsons that start at Manilla react to the Luzon landings. Not much is hit but one of the covering TFs expends most of its torpedoes on the the brave DDs and a bunch of xAKs collide

Task forces break off...

Scout and Thanet are sunk (Chokai and friends) while trying to make for Singapore. A couple of air battles erupt with mostly onesides results (allied fighters getting shot down). Not unhappy with the situation as Chris is not concentrating on knocking out the main airbases yet (Manilla, Clark and Singapore are hardly touched) so I might actually get some forts up...

One of my favorite aspects of the opening days is fuel and oil smuggling. Not as fun to watch as peanut smuggling but it can be satisfying in its own way. What are you planning to do with the PPs? B17s in the PI? Remember (I think it still does) Cebu also generates supply, so if reinforced, can hold for quite awhile without a major IJA commitment. I assume the Chinese are head'in for the hills? It seems more and more IJFBs like to try and roll up the northern Chinese flank, now would be the time to march some help north. 2 cents from Zulu high command. [;)]

Cebu produces 20 supply per day. Thats not a lot but it keeps the troops there alive. I bought out the B17s in the game vs Dennis. They are useful (and just 2 days worth of PPs to buy out three squadrons) if the Japanese player is not careful so I might try that again.

Opportunity presents itself. With only limited air support the Japanese are moving ahead with amphibious operations far south of Luzon... 15 KNIL brewsters will cover the USN attempting to intercept Japanese ships in the area...

North Pacific

This time I'm going to try and close down the North Pacific. I'm moving in CD to Adak Island, as well as an infantry regiment. Saratoga will move north to help cover landings..
