There is a law pending that could see all US online retailers being required to charge sales taxes. I'm not sure how that would impact international sales though.

Your correct my friend, as a Canadian, I have never ever been charged taxes on Steam, Gamersgate, Gamefly and even my last Slitherine purchase had no taxes charged. I even purchased some Zen Coins from PerfectWorld for Neverwinter today and was not charged any taxes whatsoever.

Not sure about here now as I was going top purchase something this weekend................but that is an entire other story on an other thread.

If I ever see taxes charged to me on any future purchase to any of those sites, I will be sure to let you know. Thanks for the info my Canadian friend.

I think they should offer some of the games for $ 9.99. Some of the 6-10 yr old games are going for 29 bucks!!! Way to high for something that is a dinosaur.

as I understand it Gamers gate charge 25% VAT to their developers on their royalt reports, so maybe you get it free:-)

Never assume the company in question obeys, or even knows, all the relevant tax codes for your specific area. In many cases it is up to you, the consumer, to know, report, and if necessary pay all taxes.
