What about the Australians?
Need Navy and infantry. Even their fighter would be a nice flavor unit.
What about Thailand? Thai units would be nice.

Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Dutch, ... and all the other minor Pacific nations are present in the game of course. They have much more limited unit lists than the US and Japan though.

Personally I was disappointed with how PzC treated the smaller nations. I wasn`t expecting that every minor piece of equipment be present, but at least something representative in each important category so they`re not reduced to infantry plus artillery. Nations that produced aircraft in their hundreds (in addition to those they imported) had no air unit whatsoever in that game.
If it`s not too much to ask at this stage, could you please post the current unit list for any of the nations you`ve mentioned above? I`m curious to what extent they`ll have their own equipment.

We're currently focusing on the US campaign, which doesn't include that many minor nations (it's mostly the Japs who encounter them in the early campaign) but for British Commonwealth we currently have these vehicles:
British Truck
Universal Carrier
Vickers Mk. VI
M3_Stuart Britain
Matilda II
Universal Carrier Wasp
2pdr AT GunCarrier
Hawker Hurricane Mk-I
Supermarine Seafire
Bristol Blenheim
Matilda II Frog
Matilda II Hedgehog
A few more are likely to be added when we need them for the scenarios, but the focus of the vanilla game is on the struggle between the Japs and US in the South-East Pacific. We're currently at 453 units already so the final count will get close to 500. Even with that number there are a lot of interesting unique units we had to leave out to keep the workload feasible. So the plan is to extend the other nation's lists in DLC and/or expansions.

Thank you! That sounds reasonable. I don`t think it`s very feasible to do every unit, but just try to do those that are representative (flavor) and important for each faction so that major equipment categories are represented in game (i.e. a nation that had a sizable airforce ought to get one aircraft at least). As a rule of thumb, I think that if you design a scenario and start thinking about replacing a faction with another because you need a certain unit type on that map then you`ve skipped something important.
So the plan is to extend the other nation's lists in DLC and/or expansions.
Hopefully you`ll be able to plan your course well so you don`t box yourself in the PzC manner where the incremental addition of units at later stages was apparently problematic as it would unbalance previous campaigns if too many new units were created. Basically, don`t expose factions that lack units (which you intend to add later) more than you can afford to in the early campaigns.

Hmm, are you leaving out all the units that were sunk at Pearl Harbor and Midway?
I noticed that the Kaga and Akagi were conspicuously absent, none of the older US battleships are present (except for Colorado), and I also noticed that you don't make a distinction between heavy and light cruisers. Thus the Brooklyn and Cleveland CLs aren't present nor is the Pensacola class CA. Almost none of the Japanese CLs are in the game yet.
I will say having some hypotheticals and ships completed too late to participate is nice like the Montanas, Midway, and Super Yamato.

Because building up & improving your core forces throughout the campaign is such a large factor in the gameplay, we chose to focus our time on weapons developed shortly before and during the years of the war. In addition we've included a lot of "refits" - ship classes that received upgrades (mostly AA, radar & ASW) throughout the war. Examples of these can be seen in the recent
unit icon screenshots. This alone already brings us to - for example - 13 different Japanese destroyer types.
As a result, some of the older ship classes will have to be omitted or represented by newer classes. Not ideal, but the best we could do for now. If the Sino-Japanese war(s) are added as expansion/DLC later on that'd be a good excuse to expand the list of pre-ww2 ship classes though [:)]

I have a question. With so many units included, will some graphics be reused for other units or will everything be unique and proper looking (roughly speaking)?
