Its because the WITP crowd is such a broad spectrum of players.

Me I am more of the game player dont mind giving up a little reality around the edges to make the game managable

So my personal mod

1. All US Air Groups, Ships and LCU's that arrive on continental US now arrive at SF
2. HQ Sqns dont exist unless forward deployed
3. Perma restricted sqns in US mostly dont apppear - cannot be arsed with pilot management sub game !!!
4. All Canadian/NZ/Australian, Indian and British Aircraft set to nationality Commonwealth
5. Beaufighter VIc, X and Hurricane IId and IV are classed as light attack bombers rather than FB's

Other changes then happen depending on the level of Ironman I am playing

I usually select from this list

1. 5 point booset to pilot xp (HATE the training sub game)
2. Cancel withdrawal for selected RN ships
3. Cancel withdrawal for selected CW LCU's
4. Remove Perma restriction from selected LCU's or air groups
5. Increase selected device pools
6. Increase selected aircraft pools or consolidate sub types - e.g. one type of Kittyhawk I for all CW natrions
7. Add a few never were ships from Allied Ironman list just for interest

Basically for my personal Ironman nasty nasty mod I try to make the scenario fun for me and as easy to manage as possible

I appreciate your candor and willingness to share your mod views, more than you could imagine. Many of us mod, which is easily done due to the excellent user friendly editor that is incorporated in AE. I have found that my understanding of AE has been greatly enhanced by studying and using the editor.

There have been times, when I have felt that I was leaving the true intent of the game by changing so much. On the other hand, I am a solitaire H2H player, and will probably never (due to time constraints) play a pbem game.

I mod because it is fun to create "what if", or to enact a different version of reality; and, if I am the only one to play the mod, there is no harm done.

Its all about enjoying the AE experience - and I do love this game.

Also: As I study you posts, I am beginning to learn Scottish...<grin>

I would not even guess at the amount of time and work it took to pull it all together - YOU Sir, are The Machine!

All I can say is "OOOHRAH" for a job well done.

Modified files can't be dropped into any scenario in the restricted range of 1 to 25. If someone saves a stock scenario in a slot >25 then they are good to go with the new stuff.

Yes. We do not wish to depart too far from the stock paradigm. Range "is"; availability dates "were"; service ratings are "subjective". People have played with these values for years, so we kept them.

So we tweaked the data. Left everything else. Maybe tomorrow. Actually, our work touches mostly the ceiling values for darn near everybody. Speed, mvr, climb, changes impact a minority of planes. Aggregation, consistency, relative operational effectiveness, within a Venn descriptor of the space; that's the ticket [:)]

WOOPS !!! Was porting stuff for John 3rd's RA and noticed that, somehow, the N1K stuff didn't get into the Babes file. Oh well, that's why it was a beta. Was wondering why people on the main forum were talking about the George and Jack relationships; now I know. Ok, will fix.

Here's a quick fix all who downloaded the file set. Put these values in your csv file. Run WitploadAE and import into your scen. That will make a air.dat file with the right values for the N1Ks.

Hey John,

We upgraded a short time before you posted that 'whoops' note. I just did the witploadae dump and looked in the air csv file - the values you show in the jpg are already there! Unless you mistakenly posted the old values in the jpg, I guess the 'missed a few' was a false alarm??

The same here. Correct values are already in .dat file, however I did not look into .cvs file.

The csv (a spreadsheet format) is made from the dat by witploadae, and so is the same data just a different format.

Dude, I'm running 3, 4 separate things under different executables. Hard to keep things straight. Good to know you are righteous, But have to make sure everybody is. Don't think it's a false alarm, but if so, no harm.

Hmm... we picked up the file from this thread shortly after it was posted. Could it be you found the old values in another version of the file? Regardless, as long as the jpg is showing the right values then everybody can check and make sure they have them.

BTW, next time Walter can do a turn will be our first turn resolution with the new air file. Will advise of any UFOs. [:D]

Me and Mr.Kane are already using the new files in our game. Not faced any major air battle yet, but everything seems to be working well so far (10 turns done with the new JWE's files).

Thank You John. RA 6.3 now carries all his work within it. Just sent the files out to over two dozen players. There will certainly be feedback!
