Shortly after midnight ( my time - Chicago ) a happy holiday banner was posted on the home page - but no sale announcement - when I got up around 7 am the banner was gone and still no sale information - but they said would start today for sure on the taking a break from the weekly deal announcement.

So I have no idea what's happened - if Erik and Ian have not been abducted by aliens in flying saucers from Distant Worlds (that's a hint for a sale title) perhaps they can enlighten us?

that happy holidays logo has been up for a number of days, i seems to only appear at the first visit to the site of the day then its gone

Iain posted an update on the "Deal of the Week...great deals!" thread. Looks like the sale is postponed to Monday. Oh well... Maybe I can survive the weekend by going to deep hibernation.

due to the sheer number of games we have now the task of updating the manually has become enormous. Its so big we've realized we cant do it by hand. We are working with Plimus to create an automated batch process to update the prices but this wont be available to run till next week. This means a short delay on the sale.

Well Ian I can help you with that - just offer a 50% discount on everything or a buy one get one free - would save you all that
tedious work changing the prices and changing them back later.

Thanks for the offer but the issue is you have to manually specify the price on every game on every format in multiple places. There are literally thousands of numbers to change manually which is a recipe for disaster

Probably simpler just to set all prices to zero with free shipping.

If you run that sale I have to buy stuff I have not already bought. This is unfair business practice.
