If you're like me and play both on the tablet and on another computer, it's really easy to keep the saves auto synced using Skydrive (and probably other cloud services as well) by creating a symlink to Skydrive.

Move the Scenario directory to where ever you keep your synced files, then open an admin command prompt and type: mklink /D "Full path to original Scenario directory" "Full path to new directory"

Oh and make sure the new directory is available offline on all computers.

Nothing more to say that hasn't already been mentions, really. Large scenarios may slow down, due to CPU bottleneck. The 2GB of memory seems to be more than enough. Graphics horsepower is not stressed. There is at least one command that can't be issued with touch controls- Rename. There may be one or two others. This can be corrected with an future update. You can use the popup keyboard for this command if you need to.

Today I get my Dell Venue Pro 8 Tablet.
As can be read here should CMANO work well.
It is to coordinate on the sofa a battle in fact a dream.
Has anyone ever tried CMANO with "Steam Home Stream" on his tablet to stream?
I will test this today and report.
I'll add a foreign game on Steam and select "cmano.exe".

Been playing for the last month on my Surface Pro 3. Battery life isn't anything to write home about. My average is 3-4 hours while playing Command and browsing the web. The interface works really well, especially with the Surface Pro pen.

I used a piece of software called "Comfort On-screen Keyboard Pro" to create a custom touchscreen mini-keyboard just for use with CMANO. With this, I reduce the need for drop-down menu selections, as well as solve obvious problems such as how to do a Ctrl-right-click and such.

Thanks for recommending this, I picked it up to. As you pointed out fixes a few issues when your playing without a keyboard.

What a nice setup for the Venue 8 pro. qq

Does the comfort on-screen keyboard and touchmousepointer apps start up when you start CMANO? It's not clear what the actual start up process is while using both of those apps in a non-touch based game (ie regular PC game). Also, does the game need to be run in windows mode for this to work, or will it work in fullscreen (non-windowed) mode?

thanks

I start the virtual keyboard thingy manually before the game (I obviously forgot to do that on the photo). As for the mouse, it is a background process, you just have to click on an icon in tray. But get the active pen :-)

thanks for the reply. My Dell Venue 8 Pro is on order and I think I'll replicate your setup. Btw, I like your diecast/model ship in the pic.

Good move, I think you won´t regret it. You will be playing Command at places previously unthinkable :-D

Just few things, not sure if you ordered the tablet already with the pen, but you can get it very cheap on ebay (but be sure it is revision A01, not an older one) and also there have been problems with microSD card compatibility. First I got one made by Kingston (not exactly the cheapest one) and it got frequently disconnected and several times, the partitioin on the card got damaged so it had to be reformatted. When you search the internet, other people had similar problems with various cards. The one that finally worked for me is Sandisk 64GB Ultra microSDXC (not enough posts to insert link), it has been working flawlessly for several months.

Oh, and the ship is Ticonderoga CG-47 from Easy model if I remember correctly. And it is not diecast, just plastic.

I use either a Bluetooth mouse or the previously mentioned Touchmousepointer to fully enable the interface. I can tell you that it all works beautifully and is nearly as efficient to use as a standard keyboard-and-mouse interface.

If anyone wants to try this, I'll be happy to share my keyboard template, although it's rather fun (and easy) to create your own. My next move is to create some custom labels so F1 is "Attack" or maybe a Harpoon-like icon.
I tell you, it's pretty awesome to have

Thanks for the tips. Today i bought this Onscreen Keyboard.
Would you pls share your layout for cmano?

This virtual mouse thing is really cool, too.
Is there any way the mouse-cursor is shown all the time without having the virtual touchpad on the screen.
If not with this Program, any other way the mousecursor is visible the whole time, even if i use a touchpen or my fingers?

This thread forced me to buy Dell Venue 11 few months ago :)
Pretty nice machine. But after few tries to play with on screen keyboard and/or mouse app(some Slitherine publish games doesn't fully or partly support touch screen) I got Dell keyboard, which is with built-in battery from ebay and now it's perfect machine for wargames.

This made me rethink should I buy an iPad for myself. I really dig this game a lot, yet it is only for PC.

Yeah, I had to get the Venue 11, too. I've had it about two weeks now, and command was installed practically out of the box :>.

I really doubt an iPad has the power to run Command even if supported the OS.

I have a Surface Pro 3 with an i5 and Command runs very well on medium-sized scenarios. I had the Dell Venue 8 for a while and loved it for simple Command scenarios.
