Sitting in the doctors office for my scheduled prolonged wait. The game looks and plays excellent. Very happy with the purchase.

Not a question but please have someone proofread the tutorial text since it's filled with typos and punctuation errors, which leaves a bad first impression.

Can you give an example. It was all proof read a number of times but maybe later changes got missed.

On the purchase screen, it should say "affecting your ability" instead of "effecting your ability". Read the second sentence of the second tutorial Deployment Phase text, the sentence is missing a comma and doesn't make sense as written. There are a few other errors I caught such as a missing apostrophe (found it, it should say a "unit's remaining actions" and "above the unit's strength plate" in the Tactical map text) but I don't have time to track down right now.

I feel there should be a better way to determine prestige cost besides using a tool tip since it's too easy to accidentally select the upgrade or whatever when you just want to know the cost.

I have already gotten used to the side panels on this game! I think you are going to have a huge hit on your hands here. I wonder if this game has made the top ten yet in the US store?

can you make the "compare units" button on the purchase screen larger (or at least a larger catchment area, maybe including the "upgrade" text)? It's a little hard for me to click it sometimes.

Yes that's what I thought too! But to me it's worth every penny!! If you hit buy it always asks you if your sure you want to buy. I can understand the disappointment in the price. But I will be playing this game for the next ten years on some form of the iPad . It's worth it to me.

Yes, you have to use the tool tip to get the prestige cost and when you press the button you can accidentally select it when you just want to get the cost. I don't know how to explain it any better. Is there a way to see the tool tip without risking selecting the button?

Yeah, it was foolish of me to assume that "everything" meant... everything. [;)]

Especially since I've purchased enough iOS apps that I should have recognized the borderline bait and switch that is standard marketing procedure on that platform. Why can't they just let us buy the whole shebang up front without going through this charade?

But seriously, glad you are enjoying the game, rogo. I played it a lot on the PC, including some of the GCs, which I found more challenging than the base game. PC seems to work very well on the iPad... which my wife purchased for me so I would spend more time with her and less time on the PC playing wargames! Poor misguided dear... [:D]

How can I get the sound effects to play as normal but without the backround music? The manual has the instructions for the PC version which has separate control buttons for each but in the Ipad version the settings do not have controls for either and all I can do is turn the volume down to eliminate both the sounds and the music. I want the sounds, just not the music.

I am NOT member of s/m or judged worthy as a beta tester but you will have to wait for a patch probably after January would be my best guess.

Just finished Norway on field marshal. It plays and feels just like the same game on my laptop (ok had to play it two times to get a DV). I really want to start the 1939 but have to win first on DV to get to Rommel mode. This is the best game on any tablet. I wonder if mr. Iain know the standards he now has to keep!

Yes this is the only way you can do it and we had assumed people knew that and to be honest I don't see how we could explain the app store mechanics in a PR without it looking very odd.

Please please please give a way to either turn the music off, or preferably adjust it independently of the game sounds. Great port, except for that.

Edit: on the Slitherine forums, there is a promise of a fix for this in the first patch, sometime after the holidays.

Yes we are working on a patch and this will be in it. We just didn't have time to get all the little extras done we wanted for the initial release. We really wanted to have the game in your hands before the holidays (So we could quiet Rogo! so had to postpone some of these extra UI issues to the first patch.
