Don't know a ship could sink by system damage I mean, without fire system won't increase it's not like floatation damage which can increase if you move the ship. But I admit I never moved a ship while something is red.

I see you used AR ship in TF, is it usefull ? Does AR repair ship while in TF ?

thing is if there is any floatation damage the ships systems are used to keep a cascade of more floatation from sinking the ship. ie no sys = no pumps,no damage control.

any ship in company with a damaged ship seems to help. at least they will recover the captain if it sinks. an AR is a bit valuable for that. but if you are going from anchorage to anchorage in short trips the AR can be quite useful at repairing passage damage.

I only included the AR in the TF as a convenient way to move it away from a front line port (it takes about a year to convert an xAK). An AR helps conduct repairs while disbanded in port, but I do not believe it does anything in a TF.

The Shokaku was in bad shape. A special event (pumps failed) caused flooding to increase; I was only surprised at how quickly it happened.

Just be glad you didn't suffer "Engine Room open to sea aboard ..." - went from 46 float damage to sunk in one go.
