Movies and reality are two completely different things. I couldn't name a single war movie which got it all right...
I think that goes without saying. Movies are all about drama, not statistics. If we were to list off the historical mistakes that Hollywood makes, we'd fill up several hundred pages of forum posts.
And since when did Marc Antony fall in love with that fat cow Liz Taylor? Certainly a Roman Consul can do better than that! [;)]

If we're talking about support troops (who see little if not action at all: nothing wrong with that, they were "lucky"), maybe.
But for the front line troops who fought at let's say Peleliu or Stalingrad horror
never left them [;)]
I'm not sure I'd like to see through the eyes of these guys. I'm lying. I know 100% I would not like to see the horror they faced day after day, night after night. And this during weeks.
It's pornographic, sorry.
